Named after the highest point in the State of Utah at 13,528 feet, Kings Peak is located in the Uinta Mountains, a major east-west mountain range in northeastern Utah. Kings Peak Porter lives up to its name by being big on flavor and complexity. It pours a rich, dark mahogany hue and is complimented by a creamy tan-colored head. Dark chocolate, toasted malt, and coffee may be detected in its nose.

Yet another beer picked up outside Bryce Canyon from Rubys Inn general store (at stupidly high prices). Poured into my plastic toothbrush tumbler after a days hiking in the canyon. Sadly I didnt really enjoy this beer as much as some from Utah. The smell was a weak chocolate aroma, mixed with dirty washing water (yes, Id cleaned the toothbrush tumbler, but thanks for thinking I hadnt). The body was dark and the head tan coloured, low retension, no lacing. The taste and body were both thin and boring, I could find no hop content and found the beer poor in almost all aspects, sorry.

Bottle from Liquor Barn into a tulip glass. The aroma seemed to be mostly dark fruit with some bitter chocolate. Didnt work for me.

Bottle. Dark brown in colour. Malty (liquorice, some coffee, slight roasty malts, slight caramel). Fruity (berries). Sweetish. Looks like Cola. Similar carbonation. Thin. Watery. (2008)

Dark brown color. Goo looking, beige head . Chocolate and roasted malt in aroma. Same notes in taste with moderate sweetness. Roasted bitterness at the end. An underrated beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle served very near the BB date. Appearance: Clear dark brown body with a large, semi-durable, beige head. Aroma: coffee, chocolate, dark roasted wet grains, a hint of sourness. Flavor: medium and dark roasted grains; mild bitterness; hints of black coffee and licorice. Mouthfeel. Bubbly carbonation; medium body. Overall: a solid Anglo-American porter. Improved with warming.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Smells of coffee and chocolate. Taste is a generic porter, coffee... bitter. Good, but unoriginal.

Old rating. Deep brown. Dark malts, chocolate, coffee suffering from a weird metallic taste. Pass.

Dark beer #5 of 6 from a mixed 6 pack. Aroma is coffee and steel. Appearance is cola color. Taste is black coffee with copper. Palate is very dry. Overall not my favorite but good if youre looking for a roast coffee taste.

Bottle. Poured a near dark brown with a off white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma started with some sweet dark grains and had a bit of chocolate and toasted notes. Flavor was similar with a good amount of toast and sweet dark roasted grains with just a hint of bitterness.

Pours a dark brown with a light tan head leaving little lacing. Little aroma. Metallic taste with a bit of coffee and light malty taste. Not a great beer, average porter.
