On tap-Judges Bench Clear golden pour w/a good size foamy head. Classic sweet, doughy aroma of a Belgian Blond. Medium sweetness w/some colander/spice, bread dough, wheat, white pepper, & banana. I thought this was quite good, a very pleasant surprise. This could easily be an everyday drinker. Alcohol was well hidden, long spiced wheat finish. Tap - hazy, dark gold beer - a little bit of soapy lace - aroma of banana/strong phenols, wheat, honey, apple - medium body, fairly smooth in the mouth - fairly sweet, with a lot of phenolic character that almost takes over the beer - thankfully, more depth develops to make it less noticeable - there is some wheaty tang, honey sweetness, bready character, cloves - it dries out a bit late, and some grassy hops come out, but remain understated - decent - certainly much better than it’s rating suggests. guzzler67 (1696) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - OCT 29, 2008
Hazy amber appearance with a small, off white head and a small amount of lacing. Muted, spicy aroma paired with a honeyish sweetness. Fruity, spicy flavors offset by a metallic aftertaste. Medium bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel with an average length finish. 12 oz, bb 5/23/08. Absolutely clear (and no sediment in the bottle at all!) orange-copper with a large, lasting head. Aromas of metallic apple, caramel and spicy clove-banana. Flavor is tart apple, funky caramel and grain, bitterish dry wheat, earthy cinnamon and clove. Light-medium body is slightly tingly and dry with a touch of chest-warming alcohol in the finish. Interesting beer that seems to put sort of an English Ale twist on the Belgian style.

Bottle from strykzone. Thanks! Very interesting beer. Pours a hazy godl with a big white head. Aroma of yeast, banana, honey, apple juice and malts. Bottle best before May 23, 2008. I don’t like to post ratings of beers that are past their recommended date stamp, but I actually liked this one and found little to no negative signs of age. The pour is hazy copper with a receding white head. The aroma is light, but solidly estery with hints of banana, coriander, lemon zest, and a pleasing dryness. The palate is slightly spritzy which melds well with the fruity sweetness. A typical banana and clove flavor profile hits my tongue, but it is appropriate and well done. The finish brings out that dryness I picked up in the aroma. I’m not sure exactly how to describe it, but it rounds out everything well. I also detect hints of green apples and black tea. This is a decent attempt by a small American brewer from Utah to replicate a basic Belgian style. I have no real problems with the brew and I feel that while it isn’t exceptional, it’s certainly underrated. Bottle from State Line. Pours copper with nose of caramel malt, hops, mild funk and spicy yeast. Tastes rock sugary malty, with hops, funk, and yeasty spicy notes.
