European tradition meets western modernity with Monkshine, an approachable adaptation of the classic style brewed in Belgian monasteries. Rejoice, fellow admirers of Belgian ales, for there is Four+ Monkshine.

I really don’t feel the need to rejoice over this beer. I would stick with European tradition and bag the western modernity. hay, grass, citrus, herbs, dough, leaves, banana, bubblegum,

12 oz. bottle. Poured clear light amber color with a short white head. Aromas of sweet malt, sugar, yeast and fruit. buttery flavors with the Belgian yeast showing through. Light hoppy finish.

Had it on tap at the Chicago Craft Beer Festival 6/22/13. Poured a clear yellow color, with a weak belgian flavor and malt aftertaste.

Aroma is sweet and fruity. However, the fruity sweetness didn’t seem to carry over very much into the taste.. at least not for me anyway. I found the flavor to be bland and dry. Okay beer.. probably wouldn’t go out of my way to drink it again

Nice Belgian taste And aroma. Thin head that doesn't last. Taste similar to many Belgians I'm allergic to with no allergy. Good mouthfeel nice brew ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a two finger white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Light fruit and clove nose, flavor is yeasty light sweet fruit and light hops. Good Belgian blond but Leffe is better. Bottled Jun 12, 2012, 12oz bottle from Gift Specialists Oceanside, California.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear yellow-orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of white fruit, biscuit, bread, vanilla, slight earth, bubblegum. Taste is a mix of pear, peach, slight orange peel, vanilla, earth, sweet bread, finishing earthy, sweet. Pretty standard.

Not a very big fan of this one. Not a very good Belgian ale in my opinion. Wouldn't try this one again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a bottle. Pours yellow with a slight tint of orange. Its light head dissolves rapidly. Sweet aroma, light taste that lacks a body.

PorterPounder (7970) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 8, 2013
Augusta, Ga - Toast Wine & Beverage - 12 oz bottle. Sparkling medium golden pour, tight snow white head that sticks around a while. Pleasant, sweet aroma with some light bubble gum, a hint of yeast, some cotton candy. Flavor has some honey sweetness, some Belgian Candi sugar notes, some yeasty notes, a touch of bubble gum. Mouthfeel has just the right amount of spritz.. Pretty solid.
