European tradition meets western modernity with Monkshine, an approachable adaptation of the classic style brewed in Belgian monasteries. Rejoice, fellow admirers of Belgian ales, for there is Four+ Monkshine.

Bottle. Yellow orange pour with a finger thick head that turned into a nice lacing shortly after. Banana, apple, spice. Light body, too much carbonation for the body. Light slight bitter finish Some beligun characteristics. Not impressive for a Unita.

JDBaker11058 (2427) - Maryland, USA - JUN 4, 2017
appearance: yellow, full creamy white head. aroma: honey, pepper, yeast, corn. taste: honey and pepper, candied orange peel, corn, grass, yeast. finish: lingering yeasty notes, hint of grass and pepper; zingy palate. notes: Fine Belgian-style ale; flavors bordered on Tripel territory, but it felt rough around the edges. Better than some of their other offerings, which tend to the lackluster. Bottle from Zoltan.

Frothmeister (841) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 30, 2017
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow with an off-white head. On the nose, wet concrete, honey, light doughy notes, and some black pepper. Light bodied with medium sweetness, mineral forward out of the gates with light Belgian tripel-like notes that heads into a hint of raisin, with watery soapy hopped bitterness, Belgian yeast notes, and mineral bitterness. It tastes a lot lighter than 6.8%, but there’s really nothing to complain about here. I would totally buy it again.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at Taco Mac in Atlanta. The appearance is slight hazy golden yellow with a small white head. The aroma is fruit and grain. The taste matches the nose.

Poured from bottle into tulip. Pours a rich gold color with two finger creamy white head. Leaves a ton of lacing as you drink on the glass. Tastes, smells, and drinks like true-to-style golden ale. Really impressed and enjoying this.

altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - OCT 12, 2016
Bottle from Whole Foods Tenley. Hazy golden body with fast-receding head. Nose is floral, of bananas and fruits and citrus. Taste is also fruits, and citrus and spices. Really nice Belgian style - very similar to Leffe Blonde. Very good stuff!

ttroha (523) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - APR 12, 2016
Bottle from Hop City. Pours hazy gold with white head. Aroma of bread. Tastes of malt, yeast and a hint of bitter hops. A nice Belgian ale.

One of the better beers from the brewery I have yet. Nice belgian single. Light approachable malt body with good white pepper, coriander finish.

From the Bottle at Burgers and Beer in El Centro. Love a good Belgian ale. This one was an average Belgian ale. Still better and a good lager.

fakebeersnob (325) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - DEC 4, 2015
Slight yeast and straw. Does now smell like a Belgian strain. Not a good sign. Very light, clear orangish-copper color. Taste has a bit of corn, and yeast..might be a belgian strain, but if so it is very faint. Not as strong as even the usual session Belgian ales. Very watery, For this clear of a beer, not seeing bubbles rise. Besides the brief yeast upfront, and the mouthfeel at the end, would never guess this was a beer - let alone a Belgian style ale. Drinkable. Will not buy again. Might be the worst Belgian ale I have had due to lack of flavor, complexity, and anything that makes this style enjoyable.
