COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Harvest the flavors of fall with a bottle opener and a stroll down the craft-brewed beer aisle. Four+ Punk’n Ale is the pick of the crop with notes of roasted pumpkin and seasonal spices. Savory. Crisp. The sweetness is in the celebration, not on the palate.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2013 It’s fine. that about sums it up. It is sort of like an anemic amber ale- pours that color with a bit of lacing on top. the pumpkin is there but in a subtle way- too subtle I would say. Not much (any) hoppiness to it but a sweetness and warmth from the spices. quite light on the palate. I guess I expect a fall beer to be a bit more substantial- in a warm you from the inside-out kind of way. this is really more like a summer ale with a tiny hint of pumkin. like the brewer was told to add pumpkin, but they always chose the desert at thankgiving that wasn’t pumpkin pie. for what it’s worth.....tried it a second time and was much more appreciative of the subtleties. definitely better than I remember.

Poured from a regular bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a mostly clear deep amber color with a large foamy white head with long retention and average cling and lacing. Its aroma featured a blend of malt and spices, including nutmeg, brown sugar, and of course pumpkin. The taste was mostly sweet and malty with a bit of nutmeg, caramel, and spice, but was a touch sour and not well developed. The body was fairly light and wet with a touch of cream and average to low carbonation.

Sample at SBWF 2016. A bit hazy dark golden with a white head. Aroma and taste of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, malt and some light caramel. The body was on the light side as was the bitterness. Not my kind of beer but this was a drinkable one.

This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a semi-hazy ruddy burnt orange almost brown color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated to a sustaining cap of a head. No lacing. The aroma starts with sweet pumpkin flesh with mild spices of ginger, cinnamon, and allspice. The flavor brings it all together nicely with a mild bready sweetness balancing nicely. Bready pumpkin flavor is in the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a nice sessionable smooth feel to it. Carbonation seems to run at a nice pace. Overall, I say this was a very good pumpkin ale that I would have again.

Can. Light cinnamon and Carmel with pumpkin aroma. Clear amber color with a frothy of white head. Very nice carbonation on it. Feels almost like a nitro tanked light IPA. Pretty dang good.

Rating #1958 2015.09.26 #CraftTakesSeattle Day 3, Beer 58 Draught at TapHouse Grill Seattle. Clear copper-amber pour, that produces a decent bubbly foam Aroma is potent, quite a bit of cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted cardamom. Taste is malty, more of a brown ale style and heavy on the cardamom and clove, hint of cinnamon, and sweet caramel, faint noble hoppy bitterness. This is a pretty good seasonal, and one of the better pumpkin beers out there.
