Golden orange with a slight haze; good amount of fizz builds a pillowy white head that fades into a fine covering. Aromas of mangos, papaya, and other tropical hop notes; not much malt contribution. More layers of equatorial fruit are complimented by a hint of sweet malt; there’s a delicate bitterness at the finish. High effervescence lightens up what is a medium body. Very fruity XPA, very sessionable. Watch the foam though.

Nice citrus-y hop aroma. Fruity and spicy hop flavor, followed by a bready malt flavor in the finish.

A really nice alternative to a golden or blonde for people who like a bit more bitterness. We really enjoyed this baby! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled and purchased at Appalachian Vintners in Asheville NC. "Wildfire Extra Pale Ale" bottle dated 08/29/08. Hazy gold with lumpy white foam like the wake of a snowplow. Amazing and unique aroma- mango and dank/piney hops- against a nutty malt backdrop. Crisp, wheaty and citric flavor... a flash of honey and then tonic water dryness. Dried pineapple. Mellow orange and spicy aftertaste. Saison-like. Light palate features an electric CO2 buzz, like zapping your tongue with a 9V battery. Outsatanding pale ale, superlatively refreshing.

Draft at OBF ’07. Pours a light amber color with a very nice floral hoppy and malty aroma. Flavor has a nice carmel malty base with light bitterness and tons of floral and somewhat herbal hoppyness that is quite delicious. This beer gets better as it goes down. It seriously keeps tasting better and you get different waves of hops and malt after its went down. Very delicious.

On tap at Uinta. This beer is much better on tap than bottled. Nice golden color with a white head, leaves a light lace on the glass. Floral aroma and citrus taste. Plenty of simco hops, well balanced beer.

Hearty malt backbone with solid fresh toasted grain and biscuit character. Some nice caramel sweetness with straw and crisp grassy highlights. Silky smooth body with light fruit notes.

It is nice to see a brewer make a lower rather than a higher ABV American pale. I like an IPA as much as the next guy but I get kinda tired of everyone pushing their APAs to be IPAs. Let’s relax a bit on the alcohol and brew some beers we can drink shittons of, that’s what I say, especially when the beers are as good as this. It may be low on alcohol but you’d never guess based on the taste. It is full flavored w/ tons of wonderful citrus hop notes. It’s just a tiny bit sweet, enough to keep it from being watery, and has lovely soft carbonation. This is a brew w/ the seemingly mutually exclusive properties of being light and spritzy and deep and complex. I want more of it.

Aroma is soft dough and grapy hop and floral nose. Appearance is great thick head, gold orange color with a lil yeast left, otherwise would have been 5. Taste is slightly tangy at first, then med body maltiness watches over with pale grain flavor, good stuff. Palate is right even with lasting and running, balanced. Overall very nice beer, hopped enough for an IPA lover, although its not hoppy the hop nose and body of the beer carries ibus well, but easy enough for the newbie. NICE~

I live here I’m biased but this is a great session pale ale. Has the body of a full strength and all the flavor too.
