A medium clean amber with a average head. Aroma is funky sour ashey malts. Flavor is very faint and dull. I guess hints of actual malts and grains. Not much else to say about this one. Not even enough flavor to make it taste bad.

Golden color, small white head.Grainy aroma,Grainy, citrusy taste, mildly sweet with a bit of hops, but kind of thin and watery with a higher then normal carbonation.Pretty poor and lacking in all categories.

Appearance: extraordinarily pale, crystal clear yellow. Swiftly diminished head. Aroma: a null set, by large, with barest whiffs of grainy sweetness. Taste: not much here. Wet as water, and almost as flavorful. No kind of texture, or mouthfeel, either, just a blank, moist, forgettable nothing. No finish. But you can drink it. You just won’t remember doing so, two minutes later. (Halfway in, mouthfeel gets a bit grainier, and gives it a bit more character than my previous jottings above would have you believe. But it’s still not much.) I can’t account for price as a consolation, this time, as I didn’t buy this one on-sale. Definitely not worth $5.99 a 6-pack. Purchase only if it’s cheap and you have few other options.

In the bottle. Yellow gold in color. Better than bad white head. I’m wanting to find something good to say about Ulmer Lager, but the words escape me. Not too much in the aroma department. Better noses than mine are creatively identifying some qualifiers for this one, but I cannot. The flavor is a rather standard- grainy and metallic. Ulmer Braun is way better than this and you know it.

obisbeer, what have I let you get me into! Small head on the pour that dissapeared quickly. Clear gold colour, malt and citrus on the nose, which I found to be pretty offensive. It really didn’t make me want to drink it. BUT! here goes...Well, I was suprised that this had a good body to it. Very short finish, not too much taste but what was there wasn’t terrible. Probably one of the better pale lagers I have had.

obisbeer (568) - Barcelona, SPAIN - OCT 21, 2004
Light yellow gold with no head. Light malt nose with some citrus notes. Light body with short finish. Really not too offensive though not much there to taste.

Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - APR 10, 2004
Nice golden color, small white head that faded quickly leaving nothing behind. The aroma was lightly malty with a slight hint of fruit maybe lemon or lemon grass, and very mild hops. The taste was fairly light with a light malt and hops and very little if any fruit coming through as the aroma might have let on but overall it's not bad.It would make a nice lawnmower brew but little else.

Really pretty good, reminds me a lot of premium but a little less sweet. Good smooth midwest lager, definately worth buying again.
