hopscotch (11113) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 10, 2007
UPDATED: FEB 9, 2009 Bottle... This beer rocks! Cloudy brown ale with a large, frothy, off-white head. Outstanding retention. Malty, breadsy nose with notes of light molasses, all kinds of dark fruits, chocolate and baked goods. Malty, rich flavor with plenty of aged hops to knock back any possibility of the flavor becoming cloyingly sweet. Caramel, brown sugar, chocolate chip cookie dough, mild alcohol. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, malty, dark fruit finish that balances out completely in the very end. Where has this beer been my whole life? I had to move to freakin’ Florida to find this?

FROTHINGSLOSH (7796) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 19, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 27, 2007 Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a ruby chestnut color with a huge brown head. The aroma was a savory mix of raisins and brown sugar. The flavor was tangy and sweet with elements of raisins, molasses, brown sugar and vague ripened fruits. The finish is fruity with a lingering malty molasses note. Very nice.

Bottle. A very hoppy beer. The smell is overwelming a little alcohol in thee smell as well as in the taste. Nice beer. Tasted it also from draft

StueyD (1583) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2015
A dark brown coloured beer with reddish tints and a frothy and lasting off white head. A surprisingly mild aroma, but all the elements of a typical Belgian strong ale, vanilla spice, smoke, woody roasted malt, nutty and dark caramel, then ripe forest fruits. A medium mouthfeel. A smooth, slightly bitter sweet taste, the roasted malt elements, nutty, caramel, woody, smoke and vanilla dominate, but there is a slightly tart fruit flavour in the background that adds a light zestiness to the taste, cutting through the sweetness giving the finish a dangerously drinkable freshness.

dorain (304) - Berlin, GERMANY - JUN 3, 2017
Sensationell!

TET (3034) - Kaarina, FINLAND - OCT 20, 2007
Beautiful dark-brown beer with medium blond head. Aroma is slighty sweet and it is like fruit dessert cream. Flavour is slightly sweet, fruitfull and peacefull. Same continues into palate: soft and very pleasant to drink. Summary: cold winter day, sitting at sofa, looking to fireplace and Ultrabrune in the glass...

nuplastikk (6289) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 6, 2008
11.2oz bottle. Thick and murky brown color, with lots of particulates. Foamy head that fades into a fluffy, light layer on top of the beer. Delicious chocolate and candi sugar flavors. 10% alcohol is perfectly veiled. Rich and creamy, with deep, pungent yeasty smoothness. This is a really great strong Belgian dark ale.

4.3
esox (1225) - Oulu, FINLAND - NOV 29, 2008
75cl bottle. Pours murky brown with a thin, beige head. Texture of the head is creamy and beautiful. Intensive and rich aroma is complex. Lots of sweet fruits: feremnted banana, peach and plums. Earthy yeast and sweet malts. Cloves and maybe also other spives. The flavor has sweet banana esther and fruitiness, Spicy sharpness and surprisingly bitter finish. Sweetish and mildly bitter at the same time. Bready malts in the middle. Full bodied, silky mouthfeel. Some sticky bitterness and syrupy sweetness in the finish. More towards sweet tha bitter. Truly complex and rich. Supremely balanced and easy to drink.
