Cask & Bottled; Regular.
This is a surprisingly light winter warmer beer. No doubt it is strong but very easy to drink and guaranteed to keep your toes (any everything else) warm.

Bottled, 500ml from Tebay Services, Orton, Cumbria. Copper with white head. This proved to be quite a rich and fruity beer, there is a smooth, slightly toffee’d malty body, lightly roasted but fullish on the palate. This is followed by plum pudding notes, raisins and sultana’s with a hint of nuttiness. Decent.

Bottled from Tebay services. Rich plum and sherry aroma. This is a spicy, fruity, complex ruby coloured beer and well worthy of its winter warmer description. Its a bit of a liquid fruit cake, loads of raisin and sultana flavours, with some bready notes late on. Not had anything like this for a long time.

Bottle: Nose is smoke, lots of oak, slight vinious, . Taste is cherry cola, smoke, touch of pepper, leads to some coco and a sweet then bitter finish. There is too much sweetness in the middle order, but pleasent enough.

Cask at Bacchus, Newcastle. For some reason the RateBeer app decided to not post this... Anyway, deep brown with ruby highlights, small beige head. Nose is vinous and fruity, with a lovely oak/chocolate streak. Taste is sweet and malty, some dark fruits. Lovely wintery beer, could drink a lot of this.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2011 Cask (hand pump) at the Darlington Spring Thing Beer Festival 2011. ABV is 6.3%. Very dark ruby colour, nearly black. Moderate beige head. Very nice vinous aroma, hints of oak and ripe red fruits. The flavour has a certain fruitiness with vinous notes, but is not very sweet. Moderately bitter finish with woody notes. One of the better beers of the festival.

Clear medium to dark brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, licorice. Bottle from Utobeer. A good looking BCA, black/dark brown with thick lasting beige head. Some coffee choc powder on aroma. Strength is well hidden. Some spice on aroma. Some dark fruits too. Pretty competent and very drinkable. Nice black cherry fnish with choc and a touch of spice and liquorice. Decent.
