Inspired by one of America’s traditional 19th-century beer styles: cream ale. Back 40 Blonde Ale is pale gold with a fruity, floral hop aroma and a velvety mouthfeel. A nice, mild malt flavor and a smooth, dry finish round out this tasty brew!

Draft... Clear golden ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The soft aroma is of pale malts and spicy, floral hops. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. The flavor is a refreshing, delicate blend of pale malt sweetness and spicy, floral hop bitterness. Short, crisp, lightly snappy finish. Nice for a blonde. It washed down my smoked chicken wings quite well.

Tap. Slightly hazy golden pour with a decent white head. Aroma is some bread with a hint of citrus. Taste is sweet malt and a little citrus.

On tap at the original Uncle Billy’s location. The beer pours a slightly hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the grain and wheat, with not too much else going on. Fairly bland overall. The flavor is a little bit more exciting, but still pretty boring. I mainly get grain, as well as some grass. There is also a little bit of floral character, but it is subtle. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

on tap-pours an off white head and hazy yellow color. Aroma is perfumy, grain. Taste is perfumy/spice hops, sweet grain/light malt-honey. Good effervescence.

Very light color, white head, hardly anything in the nose. Not bad for a blonde.

On tap at brew pub. Pours a clear straw yellow with white fizzy head. Aroma is some what floral and earthy. Flavor has faint citrus notes with grass, light earthy hop flavor, little grain. Mouth feel is light body with high carbonation. Overall, easy drinking brew.

A sample served at the brew pub. Pours light and clear. Little hop aroma present, almost kolsch-like. Earthy tastes with subdued fruit. Light-bodied and gentle mouthfeel. Certainly drinkable, but not my favorite style.
