Tap at the pub. Pours a clear reddish-orange color. Lasting head. Aroma is fresh hops and Fratto’s rye homebrew. Guess there is rye in it. Flavor is dry and fresh with some woody spicyness to it. Finishes dry and bitter.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub. The beer pours a murky brownish-orange color with a large white head. The aroma is rye malt and citrus, with the rye really coming through. The flavor is rye, citrus and pine with some medium bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Zinister (1423) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 31, 2009
On tap at the brew pub. Darker looking than the Axe Handle Pale Ale. Nose is not as hoppy as the Axe, with some earth, malts and spiciness. Flavor is okay, but a bit malter than I was hoping for.

Nice Dark brown color. Spicy hoppy aroma. Good bitter taste. Also the spicyness of the rye comes out real well. An excellent IPA.
