Can at BrewDog Aberdeen. It pours deep brown, with a massive yellow-white head. The nose is smoked streaky bacon, toast, treacle, caramel, roasted malt and earth. The taste is roasted malt, earth, toast, wood, saltiness, burnt caramel, subtle bacon and light spice, with a very dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty salty actually. Okish Brown ale. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 18, 2012
Gold-amber with good, fine-bubble, foamy tan head / Light nose of hop, spice, and smoke / Medium body, creamy and lush, dry with low fruit, with bitter finish / Flavors of dry hop, buckwheat, clove, coriander, seeming rye spice, with just a hint of bacon / Not really a brown ale, more like a rye ipa. cgarvieuk (24230) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 13, 2012

Ruby brown with fluffy beige head. Some fruity woodsmoke, a touch of brineyness and rich fruitiness. Quite forceful carbonation, fairly harsh smoke a touch of chocolate and a tobacco finish. Fairly light in body with a harsh astringent note that comes and goes. wlajwl (6750) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Aroma is malts, smokey and, um, bacon. The flavor is malts, medium sweetness and a tart/fruit finish. The bacon was really in the palate, with grease and fat that was reminiscent of bacon. rlgk (18847) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 27, 2012

Tried to pour this from the can into an English pint... Foam started gushing from the can before I could even get it over the glass, and then I proceeded to slowly pour a glass of foam. After about five minutes I finally got most of the beer in the glass, while still maintaining an epic head. The end result is a reddish brown beer with a thick tan head. Aroma is sweet grainy malt with not much else going on - but I can’t expect much would penetrate the dense foam. Initial flavor is quite metallic, and then turns into some alcohol. There is a smoky finish with a touch of chocolate, but no real bacon flavor. Medium bodied and overly carbonated. Besides waiting out the foam, the carbonation competes with and overwhelms the smokiness. Certainly drinkable, but I was pretty underwhelmed.
