American Peach Wild Ale

Note - Because this beer utilizes the Ouais base and matches ABV with Le Seul IV, it should be alted as such. This differs from the other year round sour Framboise.

750 ml bottle. Pours a deep yellow gold with a medium white head. Aroma of ripe peaches, acidic notes, light funk and lactose. Taste of ripe peaches, light funk and lactose. Nicely done. Acidic.

On tap at the brewery. Hazy orange body. Smells of light peach, wheat. Surprisingly grainy aroma with a light lemon acidity. Tastes of peaches, grain, tart lemon. Tiny bit of vinegar. Medium body. Strong sourness. Decent.

On draft at Narrow Gauge (yes, I went to a brewery and drank other beer...). Vinegar and wheat aroma, pours opaque golden with large head that settles quickly. Lightly carbonated and quite sour. Taste is of sour green grapes and underripe peach, lots of wild yeast funk with a bready finish. I don’t taste a lot of fresh peach here and it is mouth-puckeringly sour, so it’s an interesting beer to taste but not the easiest to drink.

1/3/17. 750mL bottle from the Moline Hy Vee Wine & Spirits. Orange pour with a nice off-white head. Lovely funky and sour aroma, tart, hints of peaches. Great funky and sour flavor, tart, good peach character. Considering I’m not a big peach fan, this beer was killer!

Keg @ GTMW ’16. Hazy golden pour with a delicate eggshell white head. Nice bright peachy nose. Fairly yeasty. Tart and mildly funky. Meaty peach with a bit of a sharp acetic bite on the finish. Light and fairly easy drinking. Good.

Thanks Danny! Pretty good peach sour. Almost equal parts fruity sweetness, tart, and funky.

750 from Whole Foods PM. Pours turbid pineapple juice-looking with no head. Nose is tart and yeasty, with notes of peach. Tastes tart, with lactic acid, peach, yeast, and dank cobwebby tart citrus flavor.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2016. Pours a cloudy light yellow with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has notes of earthy grains, tart lemon, sour peach and a bit of yogurt. Flavor has sour peach, oak, a decent amount of tartness and some earthy wheat backing.

marcus (10354) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 18, 2016
Bottle shared by oRos. Pours cloudy blonde with a modest white head and a funky peach aroma. There is a delicate sour fruit flavor with a tart yeasty finish. Very nice.

NikkTwist (3258) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 15, 2016
UPDATED: MAY 15, 2017 Draft at Bru Craft. Opaque cloudy orange pour. Dissipating white head. No lace. Pungent juicy peachy/lemon sour with a fuzzy finish. Fainter notes of apricot, lime, and agave. Feels a bit canned. Not overly complex but quite solid.
