Bottle. Pours a dark amber color. Aroma and taste are cloves, wheat, and some caramel. SudsMcDuff (8429) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - AUG 11, 2015
this brewery sounds straight chicago .. . dark amber brown .. good foam .. grainy wheat and tar specs .. muddled and gritty.. no thanks .. . . i’ll never forgot my 7th grade history teacher, Mrs Banana, she always smelled good. djd07 (14508) - Houston, Texas, USA - AUG 9, 2015
Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small off white head. The aroma is wheat, yeast, chocolate. Thin mouth, wheat, chocolate, sweet, good. rumproasts (5359) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAY 16, 2015
bottle. brown with two finger head. big caramel malt body. sweet. this isn’t a bad beer, but it’s not a saison in the slightest. definitely would not have bought this had I know it was going to be an overpriced dunkel. HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - MAR 20, 2015
500 ml bottle. Pours a reddish brown with a large off white head. It fades to a medium head. Coating lacing. Aroma of mild chocolate, earth, herbal aromas. Flavor is earthy, dry, with mild herbal and chocolate notes. Medium bodied with zippy carbonation. Finishes very dry. Malty saison is not exactly my style, but this is pretty good.

Bottle. Very wheaty and clovey in the aroma. Interesting for realz. Not what I would think of when I think Saison. Pailhead (6539) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - MAR 7, 2015
Bottle: The aroma consists of roasted nuts, clove, dust, light pepper, and a maybe hints of caramel and chocolate. It pours a dark orangish-brown that becomes transparent when held to the light. There is a two finger khaki head that eventually fades to a thick film. The flavor starts with a quick chocolate and faint caramel. Light-moderate apple comes in the middle and is quickly taken over my light-moderate clove, spice, yeast, and light roast. It’s light-medium bodied with lively carbonation that can be a bit prickly at times. Overall, dark Saisons just don’t do much for me. superspak (5594) - Michigan, USA - MAR 3, 2015
500 ml bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but was recently released to Michigan. Pours lightly hazy deep ruby red/brown color with a 2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of pear, apple, grape, light banana, pepper, clove, caramel, toast, brown bread, brown sugar, light chocolate, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big pear, apple, grape, light banana, pepper, clove, caramel, toast, brown bread, brown sugar, light chocolate, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy yeast spice and light wheat tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of pear, apple, grape, light banana, pepper, clove, caramel, toast, brown bread, brown sugar, light chocolate, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice dark saison style. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering. bigtaster (979) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - FEB 7, 2015
From bottle in snifter. Pours light brown semi opaque, smaller tan head. Nose with clove, caramel. Light body, strong carbonation, quick finish with more caramel. Very good. AirForceHops (7239) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 7, 2014
Paid $4.99 for a 500ml bottle at Binny’s Lincoln Park location. Dark amber color, looks mahogany with a thin ring of head around the snifter. Light spice, zesty yeast with a presence of candy sugar. Flavor is pretty much exactly as it smells. The balance of yeast and malts give an earthy and spicy finish. Earthy malt lingers well after the sip.
