(50 cl bottle) Reddish-brown colour, beige head, very hazy. Aroma is roasted, caramel, cloves/spices, a touch of resin. Taste is lightly bitter, bitterness getting stronger in the finish, and light to medium sweet. Texture/mouthfeel is rather thick and heavy. It also seems more alcoholic than it is. Finish is a little bitter and lacks aroma. Drinkable, but - for my taste - not well-balanced.

Bottles from Coppers and Rehills, Newcastle. A hazy dark brown beer that pours with a very large foamy head. It has a spicy malt, chocolate and banana flavour followed by red fruity notes and a smooth creamy finish.

apickles (569) - North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 15, 2015
Dark red and cloudy in the glass, plenty of fizz, not really much head - a little round the edge of the glass. A little smoked taste with a nice wheaty aftertase but a little watery overall.

Unertl is a legend in Weizenbeer. This Gourmet Weizen is a dark Weizen with a slightly herbal acquired taste. It is good but has little pep and differentiation. A good but somewhat boring Dunkels Weizen.

AshtonMcCobb (6667) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 25, 2015
Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep amber and cloudy, with a decent head. Nose - caramel and light banana banana bread. Taste - more caramel and banana, light breadiness. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a solid if not particularly inspiring dunkel weizen.
