Bottle. Sweet yeasty aroma. Deep mahogany body, thick beige head. Flavor is sweet and spicy, with ripe fruit, banana, and caramel. A little too sweet. Some alcohol burn in the finish. On the whole, not bad, but with too much sweetness and too much foreground alcohol.
I wasn't sure if I would keep this one for a special occasion. I decided to finally open it up. Makes me think of La Trappe Triple (my go to beer). Success! islay (2958) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 17, 2017
Tiny pour from a bottle at a tasting. Consumed on 9-23-17. Labeled as "Unibroue Grand Reserve 17." Light brown. Hazy liquid. Raisin and caramel scents. Juicy aroma. A bit chemical, prune-like, plastic, yeasty taste. Medium body. Frothy in the palate. 188.8.131.52.11=>2.9 erikaraeb (263) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 19, 2017
Quite an understated taste for such a style, but a delicious taste at that. Well-balanced toffee, malt, wood, caramel, and raisins. Not too watery and not too thick. Unibroue comes through strong once again. tsd08460 (1223) - Marshall, Virginia, USA - AUG 17, 2017

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2017 Purchased at LCBO in 750ml bottle for about $10. Nice beer. Fantastic for the Belgian style of beer. Can easily not notice it’s as strong as 10% ABV.

Dark brown pour, finger of tan head. Nose is dark malt and spice. Bittersweet. Middle is coco, currants, nutmeg, charged malt. Finish is warm and bittersweet. cattaneopapa (418) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 6, 2017
750ml bottle from LCBO. 10% alc/vol. Pours an opaque deep brown colour with two fingers of lasting head. Aromas of toffee, raisins, prunes and a whiff of cinnamon. Taste matches the aroma with notes of oak and has a well balanced hoppy finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Excellent Belgian strong ale. It reminds me of belgian quads. 2016. Smells malty, bready, a bit of caramel. Has some maple taste, some sweetness, slight alcohol character, very full body, good beer!
