Cerezo is brewed with the highest quality cherries macerated in oak barrels in Belgium for months. Its dark red colour, cherry red nose and lively effervescence precede a soft and fruity taste.

[Served with an ice cube] A burgundy red beer with only a rim of head along the side of the glass. The aroma is sweet with light notes of alcohol - reminisent of cherry. The flavor is sweet and rather spicy - I pick up mainly cloves - but also slightly acidic. A fine fruit beer.

Bottle. Clear red coloured with a light red head. Sweet aroma of cherries with notes of spices and light acidic notes. Sweet flavour of cherries with notes of wood and spices.

(Bottle 34,1 cl) Clear, ruby red with a neat, small and pinkish head. Fruity nose with a whiff of alcohol. Full-bodied with some cherry sweetness, but nowhere near what you’d find in a Belgian style sweetened Kriek. I believe I detect some odd accents of fennel! Rather unusual but quite interesting fruit beer. Thanks Siroy. 120206

Bright red color. Aroma of cherries, cherry kernels and mint. Robust body, some sweetness, some (syrup?) fruitness, but at the end is quite good.

Dark cherry-red colour. Big aroma brings together star anise, Dr. Pepper, faint cinnamon and subtle candy cherries. Sweet cherries are balanced by a light tartness in the finish. A fair dose of spice (anise, allspice, ginger) adds complexity to this dumbed-down Quelque Chose. Ever hear the radio edit of Straight Outta Compton?

Burgundy coloured cherry beer with collapsable pink head. Sweet cherry aroma with lactic notes, and I agree with MT that there is cinnamon. Like a cherry candy. Very sweet in mouth, with light sourish tart cherries and lots of residual sugars, lingering with the alcohol. Some woodyness reminiscent of QQchose. A bit short finally. Medium bodied, but way too sweet for my liking. Bought at Rapido in Aylmer, 8.99$/4 pack.

Solid light red colour. Nothing in a head, and true cherry aroma. I was expecting some bad soda pop but instead got true cherry flavour, a bit overcarbonated, but very quaffable. A thirst quencher. Average on mouthfeel, not too thin a body. not too sweet. For people not onto regular beer.

Bottle. Dark ruby brown body with a tiny pink head. Cherry aroma is sweet and sour at varying intervals. Fairly sweet flavour of cherries up front is off putting to me as a non-fan of cherries. Notes of "pitty" flavours. Average to medium palate. Lacks complexity. Thanks Tiggmtl.

The Lure:
Boastful sweet cherries proudly exhibit their cinnamon and nutmeg companions...Some malt cookies lift them all up towards the nose, and they easily get entry into the nasal passages. Some medecinal character resides within, but overall this is obviously a Quelque Chose for which more cherry syrup/sweetness was added.

The Festivities:
A portly body of residual sugars makes the portentous cherries seem syrupy at times. But if you love the spice interplay of Quelque Chose, it is exactly the same here. Except this one will be cloying for some as it is much sweeter, but all of the same flavors are there, to my palate anyway. Finish is lightly tart, but this component is dumbed down by the elevated cherry flavor. Not beery at all, but then again the Quelque Chose of recent years isn’t either. A slightly new trendy version of an already lauded recipe; less complex yes, but as flavorful.

Pop opera. You have to respect and admire the voice.

341 ml bottle. Thin pink head over a clear bright ruby red beer. Sweet cherry aroma. Fairly rich smelling, some warm spices (allspice, cardamom, clove) with a touch of vanilla adding complexity. Very Quelque Chose-esque, but a bit less spicy. Low carbonation and sweet but not candyish aroma. Flavour is slightly less appealing than the aroma. A bit of lingering sweetness, sugary. Nice complex dark cherry flavour, but I’d prefer this a bit dryer. Sort of cherry brandy-like aroma. Lingering sweetness. Cherry pits feature into the flavour with some warm fruitness, but again this subtlety is clobbered by the sugary sweetness. As the temperature comes up a bit, the spices are diminished leaving a sweet cherry candy flavour. Body is sweet and sticky, but not full. Some herbal, slightly medicinal notes. A good, if slightly flawed brew, but I’m still left comparing it to Quelque Chose, where it doesn’t fare well.
