This was pleasantly surprising. It seemed like a Belgian ale mixed with a Hefeweizen. Tan golden color with slight fizzy head. Floral bouquet with fruit. Decent amount of carbonation that wasn’t off-setting. Very easy to drink. Light yeasty presence with citrus and other fruit flavors. I still detect a wheat presence that balances it very well. Very good and unique tripel.

750ml bottle at the RateBeer DC tasting. I believe I overheard that this was a 2 year old bottle. Poured a hazy yellow color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light herbal notes, some lemon notes. Light sweet grains, wheat. Light cardboard? Light fruity notes. Hay with a dry finish.

750ml bottle pours a clear, dark gold with some cloudy, white head. Nose has yeast, grist, candy, candlewax, apricot. Flavor is sweet, honey, apricot, some pepper, yeast. Finishes sweet.

From old tasting notes. Hazy honey gold color. Large rocky white head. Sweet fruity malt aroma. Zesty bittersweet citrus malt has a yeasty character. Intense fruity notes. Tasty.

Visual: Pours translucent pale orange with a large dissipating head, 1 mm layer of micro retention and wet sticky lacing, spread out clustered streams. Nose: unfiltered apple juice, banana wheat malt with a bit of yeastiness. (lvl-4)-pungency Attack: crisp, mouthful of sharp tingly-fizzy CO2 Mid-palate: red apple juice, (lvl-8-sweetness), banana wheat malt, tangy alcoholic hit, background sweet barley malt Finish: clove, subtle hopped bitterness, Summary: Mostly banana wheat malt dominant with aggressive alcoholic sweetness. Somewhat palate non-compliant in the mids. Overall it is unelegant.

Rated from old notes. The devils of La Maudite are sunk in holy water. Fruity aroma with a dry, understated fruity taste. This is similar to Blanche de Chambly, but more assertive.

Bottle - Sweet grains and honey with some candy like nougat. Cloudy gold with a rich white head. Sweet and flowery aromatic notes much like its nose. Very sweet but pleasant. None of the dryness or grassy notes I like but good nonetheless.

Great strong foam which rapidly declined to a thin layer. The aroma is strong of fruit, and already in the flavoring felt great sweetness. The flavor is very sweet and reveals lots of fruits like peach and orange. Clear notes of honey and only a little hop. It is undoubtedly the sweetness that is the focus here, and it gives a somewhat unusual triple, but will own fine to white meats.
