Dark cloudy amber color, light foamy white head. The nose is spicey with hints of basil and maybe a touch of ginger - slightly tart-like. The body is really quite sweet, alcoholic & spicey. Leafy and organic notes as well. Overall a very complex and tasty beer, but the large alcohol is too much, dominates. Radek Kliber (7320) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - DEC 27, 2003
Cloudy some orangey-rusty-red hue. Bright white head . Peanuts , soft malt , uni yeast .
Flavour: initially overpowering that mellows down while you drinking. Bigger than other Unibroue - yes, better - slightly. I am happy that Unibroue went back to drawing table and did what it makes best.

Holy mackeral, much more of this rating frenzy and i'm going to be worshipping the porcelain god.Cloudy orange/amber color, nice tan tall head that lasted for some time and managed to leave a bit of lace. The aroma was very decent,Malty aroma with a nice amount of spice and spruce like apperance. The taste was much different,Spice abounds in this brew with a nice sweet malt and floral hops and the spruce manages to make another appearance as well.I don't know if they use actual spruce in there brew but if they do it's nicely done. The alcohol does manage to come through from time to time but not in a way that changes the over all experience. The finish is spicy and quite flavorful. This is really one of the best brews i've had from these guys,in fact i'd have to say it almost puts there La Terrible to shame. Thanks go out to Rastacouere for sending this fine brew and the possible headache i will have in the morning. Cloudy light amber colour with a big foamy head. Rich, spicey aroma of coriander, cardamom, juniper and the good ol' Unibroue yeast. Flavour is big as well, but not overpowering, perfectly meshing the spicey and herbal notes with a great Belgian ale base. Hides the alcohol well, which is dangerous for something that only comes in large bottles and tastes so damn good... CapFlu (5126) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 11, 2003
(750ml bottle) Non dissipating, white, foamy head and a cloudy amber body. Nose of spice, peppermint, spruce and dentistry. Yeasty, minty, clove and a tad of malt. Very good. Thanks MartinT!

Bright, cloudy amber. Big, fluffy tan head. Spicy aroma of cinnamon, rosemary, juniper? & sharp cheese. Highly carbonated feel. Spicy aroma of cinnamon, mint, spruce, juniper & cheese w/ the characteristic Unibroue yeastiness. IPFreely (1470) - Sanborn, New York, USA - DEC 9, 2003
Hazy orange amber color, very nice head and lace. Big spicy and malty aromas with some Unibroue yeast. Spicy and yeasty flavor, some coriander and piney flavors. Full bodied, surprisingly little alcohol present. Very good. Thank you MartinT for the 4 big bottles. DougShoemaker (3147) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 7, 2003
Intense, spicey, sweet malt aromas. Hazy apricot colour, medium sized creamy head, with some pretty lace. Spice and malts dance upon the tongue, evolving into a pleasant bitter finish. What a full bodied and strong lovely beer! Merci MartinT. jgb9348 (6194) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - DEC 7, 2003
Hazy orange colour with a nice dense tan head. Aroma of spruce, cough drops and malt. Heavy-bodied; Strong yeastiness and coriander seed. Aftertaste sprucey and piney-not too pleasant. Overall, very nice to try! I had this bottle at the Winter Party at Oakes' place in Toronto, Canada on 05-December-2003. Many thanks to MartinT for bringing up four of these 75 cL bottles! nickchalk (229) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 6, 2003
Golden blond, white bubly heady. Smells like ginger a lot to me. Some interesting spices in aroma and flavour. Flavour was very spicy, lots of different things happening, like christmas cake. Bubbly palate. Nice beer. Bottle.
