Characteristic Unibroue yeast. Coriander, some wheat. Sweet beer, but i am not getting pear at all. Some orange. Thick palate. azzurro (458) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 26, 2017
I was excited to try this one as I think a pear favoured beer is a great idea. You can smell the pear, but it could have been a bit more present, as well as the taste. Overall good. DocJitsu (2043) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - OCT 19, 2016
Pours a cloudy golden with a pure white, ample head. Seltzer and pear on the nose with a faint note of clove. Crisp mouthfeel. Flavors well approximate the nose. Bierdimpfe (640) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 14, 2016
Veiled straw color with dense storming activity. Thick frothy beige 3 finger head in a Teku, lasting around 15 minutes, with a good amount of lacing. Flavors of fresh pears, lemon, melon, sweet grains, floral and herbal spices. Lots of sweetness, a little zesty, slightly spiced with clove. Slick and smooth medium body with crispy carbonation. Light finish, ends quite clean and fast, with lingering sweet malts and fruits. Very fresh taste, inviting floral yeasty nose. Quite tasty and well balanced. Highly accessible, but still a pleasure to drink for a hot summer day. Overall very good quality craft. Probably the best fruit beer from Unibroue. 750 ml caged and corked bottle, best by date is 4-24-17. Pour is light, hazy gold with a slight white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of pears, banana, wheat, dough, some nutty (Belgian funk) character. Well balanced flavor is medium sweet and medium sour, lightly bitter. The pear really comes through in the proper proportion in this unique ale, it has a somewhat peppery aftertaste. Medium body, soft carbonation and creamy texture, with a tart, refreshing finish. Very nice, would repeat.

Draft at Hoppin’ Frog Tasting Room. Pours a hazy gold with a small white head that settles into a ring and spotty film, leaving ropes of lace in the glass. Plenty of sweet pears, with apples, hay, banana, and pale and bready and cereal malts, with that characteristic Unibroue house yeast character. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a sweet, malty, fruity, estery mouthfeel. It’s been a while since I’ve visited anything from this brewery, but this seems to be a lesser example of their output. drsordr (2885) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - JUL 30, 2016
Draft to pint at cappy’s pour light gold with thin white head. Nose sweet malt, bubble gum, ester, fruit. Taste Belgian sweet, some ester and candy. Mid palate pear. Light sweet finish. cfrancis (3588) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 8, 2016
Pours foggy gold with a big fizzy white top. Aroma is soft yeast and light malts with a soft peach aromatics. Taste is slightly yeasty, slightly biscuity, slightly fruity. Nice soft, easy drinking beer. fhoublon (461) - Lachine, Quebec, CANADA - APR 16, 2016
The nose is really spicy and peppery. There’s a
great soft pear/apple backbone but the yeast is the real driver in
this beer. Soft and fruity with a nice peppery finish. As it warms the
pear flavour amplifies it it’s still quite subtle. Tasty beer.
