Dark brown color with a thick tan fugaceous head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits and a bit of alcohol. Flavor of malt, dark fruits and caramel. Light to medium body, strong carbonation, syrupy texture. Slightly better than Irrésistible blonde, but it still feels like a cheap imitation of a Unibroue. [At Fete de la Biere 2004, Lausanne] A very dark brown beer with a fine lasting light brown head. The aroma is sweet malty and so is the flavor, but the flavor also contains notes of roasted bread and caramel. Rather simple and too sweet, but OK. nickchalk (229) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 15, 2004
Dark reddish brown, small brown head. Aroma of figs and sweet malt. Flavour is also quite sweet, maybe a little syrupy, but comes off nicely with the raisiny notes. Not bad. Bottle. Sickboy282 (1116) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 26, 2004
Pours a deep brown with a small off-white head. Aromas of yeast and raisins. Flavors of caramel, yeast and a little banana. Thank you tom for sharing this rare treat. Duke (117) - New York, USA - JUN 20, 2004
Dark red ruby brown. Cherry rasin nose. Lots of carbonation. Taste sweet fruit and yeast. Similar to other Unibroue brews just not as good.

Deep ruby in color with a small white head. Aromas os dark fruit, yeast and taosted malt. Flavors of sweet toasted malt, dark fruit and caramel/toffee. ChazyRPh (583) - Chazy, New York, USA - MAY 13, 2004
Muddy pour with a medium khaki head. Similar aroma as of that of the blonde. A lot more carbonated than I would like it. Very malty, some toasted malt flavors also. I think that the blonde is a cleaner beer. DYCSoccer17 (3714) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 13, 2004
Same nose as the blonde. Maltier (toasted) and much more acidic than the blonde. Pours a hazy mahogany with a light tan head. I liked the blonde a bit better. Kill some of the carbonation in this puppy and then we can start talking a little more. Wheatsheaf (104) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 16, 2004
341ml bottle. A murky, dark brown ale with a fizzy, disappearing head. Very light aroma of caramel and dark fruit. Light-to-medium body with a punchy carbonation that is overly aggressive. Simple malt, fruit, and caramel flavours have trouble asserting themselves because of the high carbonation (more so than the Blonde, which suffers from the same technical faults). The overall impression is of an alcoholic, less sweet, lightly spiced, generic cola. Disappointing but not disagreeable. muzzlehatch (4975) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - APR 14, 2004
341 ml bottle. Dark maple/molasses color, massive beige head lasts endlessly. Sweet, sugary, pleasant but one-dimensional brown sugar nose. Sweet, fairly full body; pleasant caramel/toffee flavors someone undone by slightly too high carbonation, ending flatness. OK, but certainly nowhere near the top for Unibroue.
