Irresistible? Yes. Brown pour with a huge amount of carbonation. Not much as far as flavors go. Not what I expected, there isn't the roastiness of a brown or the dark fruit and spiciness of a belgian. Kind of stuck somewhere in limbo. DaSilky1 (2606) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 9, 2003
brown colored with a tan head..alcohol, brown sugar, green raisin, and yeast..yeah..maybe notes of cardboard too (on a rainy day)..i like beer! redlem (1306) - Ohio, USA - OCT 28, 2003
Dark wood brown color with a small head. A sweet cherry, plum aroma. Mainly a yeast taste that is lacking character. tiggmtl (4544) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 27, 2003
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2005 Subdued fruit and yeast in the dough-like aroma with some notes of wood. Opaque brown body with tan coloured head that diminishes to ring. Sweet toffee, bread, plums and raisins in the flavour. Medium body with smooth mouthfeel, thankfully not over-carbonated like it’s lighter twin and certainly far more enjoyable although comparisons to Trois Pistoles are somewhat stretched. Bottle. I like the nose here; there's a slightly different nature to the yeast, perhaps not as sweet/spicy and more wet clay and burnt bark type stuff. I did not find it too sweet; but somewhat typical Unib house character yes, spritzy and a bit dry, malty but cut by yeast. Aftertaste lingers in a fake slightly saccarine way. Still, I like it and it was a good one to receive from radiomgb.

Hazy dark brown, some red. Light tan, fizzy head. Yeasty, dark fruit and a light yeastiness in the nose. Light yeast, touch of fruit, dry. Uninteresting ale, dissappointment, mainstream crap? DougShoemaker (3147) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 26, 2003
Brown sugar aroma, dark brown, with a small toffee head. Malt flavour, thin, ordinary. joeycapps (1468) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 21, 2003
Dark reddish brown. Light beige head. Light, yeasty, malty, peppery aroma. Spritzy feel. Yeasty, peppery flavour w/ toffee, caramel & a slight sourness. Unibroue house character evident. Oakes (17813) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 20, 2003
I was hoping for a little brother to Trois-Pistoles, but instead got something far more resistable. Dark brown, with little yeast in suspension. Toast, caramel and sulphur on the nose. High carbonation. Toffeeish note with raisin. Sweetish, and tastes yeastier than it looks. jgb9348 (6316) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - SEP 20, 2003
Dark amber colour with a dense light tan head. Aroma of a bit of smoke, fruits and malt. Medium-bodied; Strong carbonation, mild taste. A bit of malt, but not much! Overall, a decent beer but I was expecting more! I sampled this beer at Joey_Capps' on 13-September-2003 in Hamilton, Ontario.
