Really dark with an off white head. Malty aroma and slight bitter malty flavour to back it up. jercraigs (10651) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 17, 2003
UPDATED: JAN 29, 2005 Re-Rate Jan 2005 - Sparse notes on this re-rate, bit of alcohol peeking through the aroma. Very nice maltiness throughout, but its not particularly impressive or complex. Still quite drinkable though. 7/3/7/3/13 <P>Original RatingIt is unfortunately, surprisingly resistible. (Am I the first to make that bad joke???) Dark ruby colour with a nice tan head. Nice bitter maltyness, seems a bit muted and overpowered by Unibroue yeast notes. I enjoyed it but it is a let down for being a limited release/availability. 7/3/6/3/13 Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 6, 2003
Very dark brownish with a big head that sticks its tulip. The aroma reminds of the dubbel style, very malty, biscuity. As it enters the mouth, its very sweet from malt and dark fruits and very perceivable yeast, spiced with cloves. It spreads out with acid peaks. Medium body. Not too complex, but easy going. I much prefer it to the other irrésistible. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 24, 2003
Dark brown colour with ruby flashes and a large tan head. Sweet aroma of chocolate, dark berries & yeast. Malty flavour with a bit of clove & banana. Like its Blonde sibling, this is not a bad beer by any means, but it's sort of unexciting coming from Unibroue. Radek Kliber (7470) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - AUG 23, 2003
Brownish with small head . Yeasty aroma, sweet malt. Clean and well made but with out anything I have not seen in my short life. Average Belgian from Uni .

Deep brown/black in colour. Aroma of sugar, malts, light yeast. Flavour of malts, yeast, slight alcohol, somewhat roasty. Finishes with a mild bitterness and fairly light. mrkimchee (1414) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 17, 2003
hazy dark brown, big tan head. sweet brown sugar and unibroue yeasty nose. bready malt and yeasty flavours with some blackberry and a hint of spice. nice to see unibroue doing something a little darker. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 10, 2003

Dark copper brown color with a good sized tan head. Typical bready yeast Unibroue aroma. Lightly roasted malt and chewy caramel bread flavor. Mild bitterness and good balance, but lacks some complexity. Still, a pretty good Belgian ale. Boutip (6428) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 28, 2003
Pourred a large dark head that did not disapear too quickly. Very dark colour, almost opaque. The spices reminded me of the other Irrésistible but this one has a thin taste of roastiness. Would probably be better with more roastiness or butterscotch taste. Overall, I was alittle bit disapointed, it seems that we have a blonde golden ale in the body of a dark ale. I not sure where Unibroue is taking us with that one.
