[At Fete de la Biere 2004, Lausanne] A very dark brown beer with a fine lasting light brown head. The aroma is sweet malty and so is the flavor, but the flavor also contains notes of roasted bread and caramel. Rather simple and too sweet, but OK. oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - APR 21, 2009
Bottled (from lahoublonnaire.be). Very dark brown colour with minor head. Aroma is raisins, some mild alcohol, spices, yeast, dark berries and licorice. Flavour is caramel malts, dark berries, some slight oak barrel, mild licorice and some slight alcohol. Gets better the warmer it gets. At room temperature very pleasant. (Bottle 34,1 cl) Courtesy of Siroy. Hazy, dark brown with a small, creamy, beige head. Vinous aroma with some dried fruit. Medium body, sweetish notes of roasted malt and dried fruit - has a very soft mouthfeel. Very subdued bitterness. Less yeasty and carbonated than what’s the norm from Unibroue - and hence quite delicate. 080507 omhper (24963) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - DEC 18, 2004
Bottled. Almost black, small head. Aroma of chocolate and fruit.Lively with sparkling mouthfeel. Estery with lots of flavours. Fresh and complex. I really like this beer. fiulijn (20411) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 17, 2003
Brown color; brownish generous and creamy head. Simple malt and caramel aroma. Ordinary Dubbel body, just some light malt and caramel, quite dry, without character.

I was hoping for a little brother to Trois-Pistoles, but instead got something far more resistable. Dark brown, with little yeast in suspension. Toast, caramel and sulphur on the nose. High carbonation. Toffeeish note with raisin. Sweetish, and tastes yeastier than it looks. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 10, 2003
(WCC2003) Dark brown body with small brown head. Aroma is roasty/smoky, slight caramel, malty. Taste is roasty, malty, light sweet. Watery medium body Lubiere (13772) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 21, 2004
Dark brown ale with a sweet malty aroma. Light ly vinosu maderized malt, slightly carboardy , but still good, with some notes of coriander and caramel. Medium bodied. Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - NOV 12, 2003
dark colour, the head is initially medium, uniforme, creamy and slightly brown-tainted, aroma of prune, slightly toasted with notes of alcohol, very smooth, lot of carbonation (looks like a big trend by Unibroue), decent bitterness, dry malty finish with reminiscence of prune - good but very resistable hopdog (12341) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 25, 2006
12oz bottle acquired in trade with boutip (thanks!). Poured a dark and cloudy brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of dark fruits, yeast and caramel. Tastes of dark fruits, caramel, yeast, and light chocolate. Thinner body.
