UPDATED: SEP 22, 2007 A nice beer which comes across as "Belgian lite." Characteristic yeasty aromas and a distinctive tripel body but a bit toned down. A very pleasant beer when you want Belgian but not so much of it.

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2007 Pours a nice hazy yellowish-orange color with littlte head. Smells of a hefe-weiss: cloves, banana, yeast. Spicy and fruity to the nose. Taste is banana with a touch of green apple, clove, and slight peppary taste. Very smooth and drinkable but the alcohol comes out of nowhere in the finish. Very good beer indeed.

I am really happy to be reviewing this beer and also a bit frustrated. I have been drinking La Fin Du Mond for over 7 years now and is one of my all-time favorites. Unfortunately, I still dont think my critical palate is sharp enough to do this beer justice. Anyway... Pours a hazy pale gold with a rich snowy white head. Very lacy. Smells like spicy sour apples. Yeasty and fruity. Taste is heavenly. Frtuity apple in the body underpinned by sweet spicy flavors. Sour malt and yeast to finish. Smooth. And then very slowly, very subtly, the beer shifts into another gear and that dull alcohol warming comes through in the aftertaste. Its a thing of beauty. This is a gorgeous beer. A perfect sipping brew for a cold winters evening.

(Bottled) Opaque orange color with a large, quite tight and lacy head. Very fruity (apple, orange) and yeasty aroma with witbier-like, peppery and flowery spiciness. Extremely fruity, yeasty and peppery-orangey, acidic flavor. Bitter, flowery-hoppy and peppery finish. ABV is very well hidden. Medium-bodied palate with foamy carbonation. A very easily drinkable and refreshing, tasty tripel.

Blonde body witht small white head. Apricots and lemon prominent in the nose. Medium bodied. Masks the alcohol well until the finish.

This poured out a murky golden orange with about a half-inch of white foam sitting atop the body. No lace was left as this was consumed. Aroma was very spicy with notes of a lemony zest and a bit of yeast as well. The taste stays true to the smell with spiciness really dominating with a touch of fruit over a doughy backbone. Lemon and apple notes were the most distinguishable. A nice spicy bitter after taste ending this lovely brew. Mouthfeel was bubbly with about a medium body. Drinkability was good and I would definitely have this again in the future. All around good brew.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2005 Cloudy yellow with an enormous and lasting head. Yeasty aroma reminds me of a bakery with some citrus and just a hint of apples and spice. Rich sweet flavor with an alcohol finish. Citrus and spice in there as well. Very good stuff.

A solid tripel, especially for the price. I had this one on a beer trip back in March, so I dont remember the specifics too clearly, but it has high marks in my notebook.

Golden honey hazy color. Pours with a generous white head. Yeasty, spicy, sweety, pale malt, fruity note of apple and orange. the palate is an ontuous one, with medium-bodied, the flavors are yeasty, fruity with pale malt character in a sweet warmth alcoholic finish.

Smells strongly of yeast, like most belgian tripels. Lovely cloudy golden color, no head. Tastes like most other trappist ales, but its not trappist. Not bad, but not terribly impressive. Allagash tripel is better. Strong yeast and spice flavors. The alcohol is very well disguised, with a slight enjoyable burn at the back of the tongue. I enjoyed this, but would rather buy a different trappist the next time.
