bottle. pours a cloudy yellow orange with a lasting creamy head. one word comes to mind when i smell this, Grapefruit. taste is nice, creamy with an overall hop profile, taste like orange juice and vanilla ice cream, which i like. finish has some malt but overall keeps a fruity creamy taste. damn i used a lot of verbs here, "but i am what i am", to quote popeye using corect english or something. Bottle. Nose is malty and strong with alcohol. Flavors that come out are prune, orange, alcohol, black pepper, and carbonation. Very rich comlex flavor. Nice black pepper finish. Finish is really nice-spicy and dry. Yum. Muy bueno. mkobes (2142) - paramus, New Jersey, USA - JUL 18, 2004
750 ml bottle. Cloudy yellow in color with a nice white head. Banana clove aroma. Spicey. Malty flavor with hints of spice. Nice beer. Full bodied. Enjoyable. MaiBockAddict (1497) - Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA - JUL 17, 2004
750 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy light yellow with a nice rocky white head. Banana clove aroma, with an alcohol component. Big thick malty flavor with hints of banana and clove. Like a big, giant weiss beer. Better than I remember from years gone past... TheDean (786) - MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 17, 2004
Beautiful looking beer. Has a citrus tast to it (lemon and something else). A bit of a bitter bite, but in a good way. No bad aftertaste like I expected when I took the first sip. A good beer.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2004 Bottle. Brilliant bright gold color with a fluffly white head that never completely fades. Hazy. Aroma of clove and ginger spiciness with some nectarine- like fruitiness. Fantastic. Fizzy fine bubbled carbonation. Spicy and citrusy flavor that is sweet at the start, tangy at the finish. No odd aftertastes that I have noticed in other Belgian style ales. Alcohol warmth is present, but flavor is not obtrusive. Lighter mouthfeel than I expected for a high gravity beer. As it warms, a carmelly almond flavor makes its presence known. Once again, fantastic. SpringsLicker (3665) - Tennessee, USA - JUL 17, 2004
Brilliant gold color and a slowly fading large white head on top.
Nice spicy aroma with a bit of honey.
Some alcohol in the flavor subsides somewhat as it warms. Spicy citrus flavor with a slight sweetness. A tasty triple! tsarman (794) - Northern, New Jersey, USA - JUL 9, 2004
Man, if it truly was the end of the world, this would be a great way to spend the last day. Alcohol presence is obvious, though not overpowering. Golden color with small head. Drinking the whole bottle while playing a game of CRA CRA CRA CRANIUM might not be the best advice, but I won anyway. Very sweet. Reminded me of one of my favs--Duvel. Drinking the 750 ml alone is not for the faint of heart. TheGreatKen (76) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 8, 2004
This is the strongest ale I’ve ever tasted, and the first Unibroue ale that I’ve ever tried. It has a semi-light body, lighter than some ales, but it packs a punch. This is one of the best beers from Canada. heemer77 (5360) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUL 8, 2004
I thought that this was an excellent example of the style. Pours with a bright gold color and has slow bubbles. There is a large white head that turns to a small head with time. The aroma is peaches, oranges and ginger. After this warms up I also smell carrots. The taste is peaches and cinnamon. Has a spicy ginger finish. The carbonation is soft in the mouth. This is my favorite Unibroue.
