Orange - Brown in color. Large creamy head. Significant effervescense and a great aroma. Spicy and fruity. A good balance of hopps and malt. Noticable alcohol in the aftertaste. A good solid representation of a Belgian Strong. pivo (2689) - GERMANY - APR 3, 2003
Sweet, fruity nose (figs?) that is kinda bread-like at times. Nice ruby-amber color and a low fizzy head with lace. Subtle toffee-ish tones are an interesting taste component. Accents of cinnamon and a quick peppery finish. Very full body and fairly complex. A good stand-alone beer - good in the evening maybe after dinner. joeycapps (1468) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - APR 2, 2003
Hazy dark orange/brown w/ large tan head. Yeast, orange peel, & coriander on the nose. Creamy feel but lots of carbonation as well. Sweet flavour w/ orange peel, coriander, alcohol. Finish is dry, mildly bitter & leave a nice little tingle. WisconsinBeer (716) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - APR 1, 2003
Hzzy red color. Smooth and creamy. Caramel, bananas, fruit. Not too heavy, leaves a little spiciness aftertaste. Goes down well. hotstuff (5279) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 29, 2003
About all I have to say about this brew is that it was just okay.I was not extremely impressed by the taste.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2004 The aroma of this brew was hard for me to make out. It's initial pour yielded an invigorated head of small white bubbles that left no lacing and has a cloudy light brown color. My first taste had an initial uh oh reaction but later settled into flavor that I could not identify. Not sure how to rate the taste of this brew. Not a bad taste, but not great. After a while I could taste the alcohol content of this brew. Perhaps 3 good brews in a night is too much for good ratings! Hmmmm.... 3fourths (9367) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 27, 2003
Clear amber with a huge head. Alcoholic smell with peaches and lemons. Silky smooth but very harsh and alcoholic, feels musty. Palate is left syrupy. ConiseurofBeer (242) - Downingtown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 26, 2003
Dark cloudy amber, with a sweet, fruity nose. Fruit flavor mainly grape. I really liked this beer. I will definitely buy it again. evinal (78) - Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 24, 2003
Deep color. Fizzy head, mostly diminishing. Nice lace. yeast aroma was very displeasing for some reason. Can't pinpoint. Mediciny, funky, solvent. i don't know. Light fruity aroma underneath. In the mouth it seemed harsh. Ive had about 6 belgian ales over the past 2 weeks, which i loved. Something here is not right. i will re-rate at another date. Raisons, grapes and sweet plums in the nose. Big frothy, fast diminishing head. Amber color, soft carbonation. Light peppery taste, also apples and honey. Medium aftertaste. Pricks on the tongue. Round and balanced.
