Color is very cloudy deep yellowy amber, pretty soild and juicy with a two finger high head of a super creamy, whispy light and tight ivory head, very steady and even, leaves some large stringy lace at first but starts to lose its staying power after awhile. Smell is soft, big time soft, sublte, with a deepening character of musty malts, sweetly rich, a tad citrusy, and some faint spice notes and whisky. Intreging mixed tastes of smokey-like malts, very subtle but rich and softly mellowing and warming, some citrusy hops and mild fruit of peach, apricot, and lemony spices fills out through to the finish with a lingering softness that just begs you for another swig. One heck of a interesting brew, put together magnificantly. Feel is pretty full and textured lightly with a small astringency in the middle leading to the soft lingering dryness of warmed ice cream. Pondering this beer is quite fun, it takes more then one glass of it to really appreciate it, one excellent brewed beer, Unibroue never stops the onslaught of interesting beers, and this ranks up there with some of the finest. Hazy golden amber color with super strong activity. Thick foamy beige 4 finger island head, lasting almost forever, with strong legs.
Pleasant floral and fresh apple nose. Well intensified flavors of apples, pears, grapes, and sweet grains with floral and herbal spices. Balanced fruity sweetness with a sharp crispy fresh grassy and slight coriander feel.
Slick full body with champagne like carbonation. Well intensified finish, ending with a fresh fruity feel and a pleasant honey/maple tongue coat.
Overall an excellent craft offerring delicious complex flavors and great freshness. Visually appealing, well intensified, balanced, and accessible. The only flaw is a slightly metallic feel. redlem (1306) - Ohio, USA - APR 29, 2003
Slightly hazy honey color with a small thin white head. I am reminded of freshbaked sponge cake and a summer citrus salad. Lively carbonation. Crisp, effervescent, taste of bubble gum, honey, and Gala apples. Finish is sweet and slightly dry. Excellent. NectarFarm (128) - Calgary, CANADA - SEP 2, 2003

Another amazing offering from the Quebec brewer. Subtle tastes of peat and earthiness open up to a hearty and complex beer without the intimidation factor. Light bodied. Highly Drinkable. Some coriander. Some smoke. Great finish!

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2014 Bottled, 0.33l. Murky ruby brown color with small creamy tan-like head, soft visible carbonation and some yeast residue. Aroma of spicy yeast, rich malt, tropical fruits, orange peel and coriander. Taste starts sweet and rich malty, then followed by slightly sour dried fruits. Mouthfeel is warm with strong alcohol note. This beer is pretty well balanced, aftertaste is mild bitter and much more spicy. Full body, thick texture and soft carbonation in palate. Not really smoked, but certainly one of the best Unibrou’s that I have tried... ChazyRPh (583) - Chazy, New York, USA - JAN 8, 2004
Clear amber pour (Draft at McLean's Pub) with minimal head. Slight citrusy aroma with definate yeast. Impeccably smooth and well balanced. I taste a hint of clove along with a yeasty flavor that is oh sooo good. My favorite from the Unibroue folks. Pwn3d (1962) - Manhattan, New York, USA - JUL 5, 2008
A gift from my dads visit to Montreal. Pour is an incredibly inviting dark hazy orange, with violate carbonation disturbing the surface - building a sweet white head. Taste is extremely compliant and surprisingly very much not whiskey or smoke focused. Instead it is yeasty and maybe a bit sweet even. Regardless, one of my favorite Unibroues to date. Not because its complex and flavorful, but its one of the best representations of a balanced session belgian ale with one of Unibroues best mouthfeels. dreamflower (790) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JAN 10, 2014
Enjoyed this while northropfrye was away. A little bit smokey but also sweet and flavourful. I liked it! Beachmaster (546) - Oklahoma, USA - SEP 1, 2014
Bomber into a pint glass. Pours a dark amber, with a huge white head that slowly fades into a disc on the surface, leaving good lacing. Nose is faint yeast and smoky notes, and the taste is malt and caramel, with a nice whiskey flavor on the end. Finish is long and smooth. Well-made, but not my favorite Unibroue.
