Entirely Belgian in character, but not what I expected. It’s a blend of styles. The appearance and ABV suggest that it would be similar to a Dubbel, but the flavor has more dark fruits, raisins, and some vanilla. Almost like a lighter-bodied variation of a Quad. Complex and enjoyable. shorlin (721) - St. John’s, Newfoundland, CANADA - OCT 8, 2013
Poured from a 750ml bottle into my Chimay glass. Wow, nice aroma. Initital notes are citrus: orange, tangerine and mandarin. Also a good amount of spice. Not too big, but seems like a good amount. Appearance is a good murky burnt orange, with a whitish head that looks like it will last for days. Taste isn’t quite as good as the aroma. The spice comes through in the taste and the aftertaste, but no real distinguishing feature otherwise. It’s good, but not super impressive. Feel is also good, but not really, really full bodied. There’s a nice tingle all the way through, though. electrotype (655) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 27, 2013
Pours slightly hazy and orange-amber with very frothy white head. Aroma has strong fruity scents - banana, and spice, and a little musty. Taste is medium sweet with a bit of a tangy finish.

pours hazy golden orange with a creamy off-white head, good retention and lacing. very spicy and yeasty - unibroue-like (duh), caramel and toasted wheat, bit of honey, coconut and vanilla, bitter herbs, bit of phenols and butter - in a butterscotch manner, hint of acidity, candi and candies (!), warming alcohol. lively to average carbonation, light to medium body- oily, grassy-earthy and astringent finish. nice stuff. 750 ml corked & caged bottle. Clear first pour, orange copper, foamy off-white head slowly settles and lasts. Yeasty, spicy fruity aroma. Taste is fruity, some citrus and the usual yeast strain, lightly spiced, clove and coriander, light floral hops and some noticeable caramel malt behind. Lively carbonation and lighter bodied. Second pour is hazy with yeast sediment. Another well made fruity Belgian style ale. NFL (Not For Lagerboys) GothGargoyle (2587) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 6, 2013
Cloudy dark orange with a decent yellowy pale head. Aroma is yeast, candied apple, pear, stone fruit. Slight creamy mouthfeel, medium body, sweet on the palate with a fruity finish. Taste is nectarine, apricot, dried apple, mango. Not bad. VT (2527) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 5, 2013
750 ml bottle. Pours a murky orange-brown with a short lived white head. Aroma is earth, caramel, belgian yeast. Flavor is earthy, toffee, spicy. Finish is sandy, spicy, lemon tartness. Medium body, soft mouthfeel, weak to average carbonation. Good. Stefano21 (18) - Toronto, CANADA - AUG 30, 2013
3oz sampler from the Loose Moose in Toronto. Hints of floral and citrus. Reminds me of the dieu du ciel rose d’hibiscus.
