Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

Bottle pours dark brown with an off-white head. Ripe dark fruity sweetness, hints of spice and clove in aroma. Some roasted malts and brown sugary notes later on. Sweet fruityness and plums in taste.

Trs agrable. Bouteille 34.1cl achete un stand de march de Nol, Noisy-le-Grand, bue le 10/02/2017.

One of the very best Unibroues out there. Fruity aroma and a nice very dark brown appearance. Medium sweetness with no bitterness--with hints of plums and malt. Its sort of like if you mixed Fin du Monde with a strong ale-- a bit darker and a bit more substantial, but not heavy and still certainly a Belgian at heart.

Purchased a while back at Market Street and I have been waiting to imbibe with great anticipation. Trois Pistoles only emphasizes why Belgian styles are so great. The cork comes out with a pop and I get a pour into my Chimay glass of an alluring inky dark body with a persistent eggshell-white head. The nose is dark fruit and spices. The taste builds on the smell, I get ripe red plum, raisin, clove, a hint of coriander with a nice finishing touch of bitterness. Very involved. An adult appeal. This shoots up to be one of my all-time favorites.

Great long lasting dark Belgium style beer. Very long in the mouth with sweetish finish.

Unibroue, ah!

Bottle. Unclear dark brown in color with an off-white head. Ripe dark fruity sweetness, hints of spicyness and vinous notes in aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Some roasted malts and brown sugary notes later on. Sweet fruityness in taste, some vinous notes and overripe plums in taste. Creamy finish with some sweetness and hints of spices. Quite nice.

Bottle 34cl. served in a trappist glass. Cloudy amber brown, small frothy beige head, diminishing quickly, fair lacing; aroma dark roasted malts, caramel, vanilla, fudge, yeast; at first thin taste, develops slowly, light heavy sweet and slightly bitter, malty, roasty, caramel, alcohol; malty sweet aftertaste, hint of chocolate, brown sugar, spicy notes; medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation; not bad but expected more, less complex and rich than hoped.

Weak Aroma. Tastes like its sister the noire de Chambly but with less water and a beer can taste.
