Bottle. Pours an orange copper body with a medium-sized frothy white head. The aroma has faint notes of honey and some corn among some metallic yeastiness. The flavour is rather simple and sweet: honey bread and cereal. Mildly refreshing though quite boring.

NTO one of the best form this brewery, but still is veyr good. Although a little incipit it has a honey good taste. A little dakr int he orange features and good aftertaste. Specially at the bottom.

Very sweet aroma offers notes of melon-like fruitiness with some faint floral honey notes. Clear, pale copper coloured body is topped by a low white head that recedes to ring. Mild grainy cereal malts and some light grassy, soapy hop character are apparent in the overly sweet flavour. Gentle bitterness is apparent in the finish. Watery texture with low carbonation. Sampled at Mondial 2006.

Fresh 2006 bottle, mostly drainpoured on 8/27/06.
Feeble white head lounges about precariously at cover, with lots of fizziness in the liquid, which is a very weak amber, more golden-like and starkly clear and filtered.
Smells papery, prematurely oxidized and pasteurized? I don’t know, it certainly dosent smell fresh and yeasty. Metallic character is definitely there, with short lager time evident (vanillin, corn). Some honey fermentation biproduct (sharp, waxy candy corn and spicy phenol) is notable, with no hops, and an insipidly simple caramel-honey sweetness.
As disappointing as the aroma is, the flavor takes it another level. Papery, dry, poorly extracted/undermalted or just plain pasteurized and stale (or both). Metallic to the extreme, with compound lagering flaws. Sweet, candy-like, artificial caramel flavor is present on the end. No alcohol noted, fizzy, annoying carbonation and some minor wateriness. Even some DMS thrown in for good measure.
Now let me go see which Sleeman beer I should alias this to.....

Pours a clear copper color with a thick, fluffy white that diminishes to almost nothing. The aroma has a decent biscuity malt and some honeyish sweetness, not as bad as I thought so far. The flavor though, that’s another story, the biscuity malt is there but feels very weak and bland, the honey sweetness is also noticeable. The body is light with a watery texture and the carbonation is moderate. Too bad the flavor doesn’t follow on the promises made by the aroma because this beer would have been at least decent.

341ml bottle from the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/quebec/g target=blank>La Trappe à Fromage in Gatineau, Quebec. Golden amber in colour, quickly dissipating off white coloured head, some lacing. The aroma is grainy, some wheat, moderate sweetness, very light honey. The flavour is grainy, very sweet, slightly herbal, faint honey. Sweet mouthfeel, light body, quite gassy with high carbonation. Finishes fizzy, lingering, sweet. This is quite a shame.

No Best Before date.

341 ml bottle. Cooper color. Small head. medium carbonation. Very light honey taste (very very light). I prefer that one that the regular U. ok but not enough for me to be bought again.

shintriad (701) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 21, 2006
Don’t see the point of this beer. There’s a hint of honey and not a hell of a lot else, other than pronounced metallic and alcoholic flavours (for some reason).
