This generously hopped pale ale is a strike in your mouth! Brewed with lots of Pacific Northwest & New Zealand hops this beer is ten frames of big citrus and tropical fruit aroma and flavor. A strong malt backbone rounds it out and makes this pale ale a delight for the senses. The pins may be small but the flavor is huge! In our town, we roll Duckpin—a true Baltimore original.

Fine pale ale. Hops are consistent in the body and the finish. Bitter enough but flavorful.

A nice, simple, hoppy, straightforward IPA. Lemon and orange, plenty of citrus, a nice light caramel backing malt. Flavorful and quenching.

Hazy light gold pour, nice fluffy white head. Nose is pine. Bitter. Middle is citrus and soft malt. Finish is mildly bitter.

hopscotch (11101) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 7, 2017
Draft... Pours clear and golden with an amber tint and a small, creamy, white head. The aroma features melons and tropical fruits with a mild citrusy undertone. Light-bodied with a thin mouthfeel and zippy carbonation. The flavor is lightly fruity and moderately bitter. Finishes very raspy and dry.

Bold hop profile and a bit of Crystal malt within the body. Seems more like a session IPA than a pale ale. Not enough malt.

BeerdedDave (1707) - Beckley, USA - DEC 28, 2016
clear amber color; light, floral, citrusy hop aroma; light citrusy hop flavor; very light malt base

Sampled at GABF 2016 with Paul and Larry. Pours a bright orange body with white lacing. Mouthfeel is light bodied and smooth on the palate with notes of clean malt and bitter citrus fruit. Sessionable enough.

Jayb0 (1197) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - OCT 22, 2016
Solid APA with some restrained tropical notes, good balance and solid malt backbone. Citrus hopiness up front gives way to slightly spicy finish. Good beer.

The thing that makes Duckpin so darn good is its perfect, crisp finish after a nice malty pull. I like pale ale of almost every stripe, but this beer catapulted from obscurity to the top of my list because the balance is exquisite. Union isn’t pandering to hop freaks here, or slumming it in (watery) legacy-beer territory. They put in quality ingredients and got everything right. Its a beer you will never be sad to own until its the last one in your fridge.

(Can) Very cloudy orange body with a small white head. Orange citrus and floral aroma. Light bodied, mild carbonation. Bright, bitter flavor; citrus (lemon/orange) with floral notes; mild sweetness with dry finish. Clean and refreshing.
