I miss this beer. I had it first at Backbooth in Orlando. I heard a rumor that they may bring it back this winter! I hope so! Just imagine a really good porter with roasted coconut added. So good.
As porters are my favorite style I was interested in this local product. OK but nothing to visit Orlando for. I found it weak DragonStout (1416) - Groveport, Ohio, USA - DEC 8, 2003
Wow what a great brew. This is coming from a home brewer who is growing big.A midnite black beer with hints of coffee, chocolate, coconut and burnt malt. This is one of the best taps ive ever had and i have and i have had many.If u ever come to Orlando this is a must have.Found at Rossi's or The tap Room. On tap. No head just a thin rim of bubbles. Roasted malty aroma similar to a porter. Watery mouthfeel. Nutty flavor with a hint of coconut on the finish. Interesting. delacerveza (166) - Florida, USA - OCT 17, 2002
had this on tap in two different locations. first time, better body (palate/mouthfeel???) and carbonation. second time it was quite flat.
dark ebony color, roasty but sour aroma. the flavor was somewhat nutty but not at all what i was expecting. (i was expecting more of a coconut tang) sorta like a weak porter that wanted to be a lager.
i have a confession to make--the second time i had a ’taster’ of this beer (which was about 4 oz) but i ordered a bottle of duvel after trying this. thing is, the duvel didn’t live up to my last tasting of it either, so i mixed the two.
it was pretty tasty.
