Wicked Wheat Beer
An Untapped take on a classic beer. Traditionally strong, our wheat beer is triple filtered before bottling for a clean finish. Full to bursting with all the distinct flavours of this style, with a delicate hop texture and rich mouthfeel. To be enjoyed with or without yeast as you prefer!

Dark yellow colour with no head. Aroma and flavour have a fair bit of apple pips. Rather flat and lifeless.

Poured from bottle. Didn’t pour too much yeast as wanted to keep cleaner favours. Pale straw colour, no discernible whitish tone. Smooth nose of estery banana and European herbal hoppiness. Not overly tasty but mild banana-y herbal taste with only a little sweetness from the wheat malt. Just about enough to carry its strength off. Finishes dry and a tiny bit, and in a more or less pleasant way, like medicine. Probably nicer with a little more yeast poured than I did but the beer itself seemed to lack a little something. It’s got some pretty good flavours going on but pales in comparison to some wheat beers.

Wakefield Beer Festival. Gold with a very thin head. Has a malty-wheat aroma with a more genuine wheat beer taste, although clearly ale in texture.

500ml bottle from Newport Food Festival ’13. Has quite tame wheat flavours compared to the German greats, with a lighter body and not as hazy in texture. But then I guess that’s what Untapped want, a nice easy going wheat with a pleasant fragrance that has you ordering another before you know it.
