Draught at the brewpub. Pours darkish copper/amber with offwhite head. The aroma is caramelly with a faint woody note and a slight candyish hop note. The flavor is toasty with some caramel sweetness. Sampled on tap at the Upland Tasting Room (Indianapolis, IN). Very surprised I had never had this. Pours a nice amber light haze hue, some sunny glow to it, with a frothy offwhite head dies to an ok film, light lacing. Aromas are caramel and sweeter malts, toffee and biscuits and toast take it back down, sweetness, give it some toast and dry maltiness. Perhaps just a hint of florals. Initial is toasty and sweet toffee malts, biscuits, some toasty bread dough, touches of caramel. Light floral bitterness dies out, makes it largely malty but not overbearing. Lighter end on the palate with a touch of sweetness, toast, light hopping. Finish is subtle dry hop, with some lingering sweet and toasty malts. Solid Amber, but a bit forgettable. Pours a moderate amber color with an off white head and a tad bit of lacing. Nose brings caramel, bread dough, and a bit of a nutty character. The taste is some lightly roasted malt and a bit of bread. Slight caramel characteristics. Good body with moderate carbonation. Drinks fairly well, but there isn’t anything terribly unique about it.

Sample at upland...pours a clear copper brown with a thin white head... Flavors of bready caramel malt and some grassy notes. Clean and very straight forward... Aroma of grass and pale caramel malt.

Draft at tap room. Pours a medium dark amber with an off white head. Sweet malty aroma. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice hefty caramelly malt backbone with some chocolate bar nuttiness and maple. Somewhat sweet with a tame hopping rate. Bottle thanks to 17thfloor from multi-pack. Clear red amber/brown with small to medium white head. Aroma is yeasty, caramel, light fruit, mostly citrus but somewhat tropical, a biscuit and chalk as well. Flavor is somewhat citrusy with sprite, biscuit, toast, sweet, slight hop bitterness. 12oz bottle. Pours a very nice clear glowing dark reddish amber a medium creamy frothy off-white head. Strong toasty caramel malt aroma, lightly fruity. Flavor follows aroma, sweet and toasty, but quite clean, hops are second to the rich malts but balanced beautifully, lightly grassy, touch of honey, citrus, pine. Great barley aftertaste. This is a very nice and quite tasty amber, which is saying a lot, surprisingly interesting despite its simplicity. Medium bodied, clean feeling, fluffy carbonation, just a hint sticky. Bottle courtesy of tjthresh (thanks!) Pours a hazy copper with just a little more than a film of bubbles on the surface. Aromas are driven by caramel and toffee with a little bit of apple juice and pepper. Flavor is about the same. The malt dominates, but there is a little bit of a fruit and spice finish to it that is just pleasant. I liked this quite a bit for a plain old amber.
