22 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with pittsburghkid. Pours a slightly hazed reddish amber with a thin-moderate off-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left light lace. Very pleasant aroma of vanilla, caramel, bourbon, and brown sugar. The flavor steps back just a bit from the aroma with malt, bourbon, and vanilla are present, but the caramel richness is weak. Medium bodied, but lighter in body than I would expect for a barley wine. Ok as it is, but was hoping for a bit more. drfabulous (8825) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - DEC 4, 2010
22 ounce probably bought at Sahara Mart in Bloomington. Head quickly dissipates. Brown color. Not a very intense bourbon aroma. Some caramel and sweetness. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - DEC 1, 2010
A: The pour is surprisingly clear amber/copper color with a short lived off-white head.
S: The nose certainly lets you know this one is barrel aged. Bourbon and vanilla start things off. Caramel, toffee, and brown sugar follow. There’s a bit of cardboard/oxidation going on too.
T: Surprisingly light in flavor for a -bal aged barleywine. Again, sweet vanilla and bourbon along with the typical brown sugar and caramel flavors of the style. A bit of warming alcohol is present as well.
M: The body is certainly on the thin side with a fairly lively carbonation to it.
D: Not at all bad, but not a homerun either (maybe a long single). I didn’t find it bad, just sort of uninteresting. Rosebud butternuts (2398) - Denton, Texas, USA - OCT 27, 2010
bottle thanks to thirdeye11. poured amber with an off white head. aroma was caramel, dark fruits, raisin, and slight bourbon. flavor was cotton candy, dark fruit, and caramel. body was medium and sticky with low carbonation. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - SEP 21, 2010
22oz bottle from the Sahara Mart in Bloomington, IN. Pours a hazed amber colored body with a finger-width, creamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice, streaky lacing. Aroma is quite nice. Lots of sweet bourbon barrel with plenty of caramel, dark fruit, and bready toffee. Some woody vanilla, citrus hops, and syrupy rum. Flavor doesn’t quite live up to the aroma, but is still solid. Lots of caramel, raisin bread, sweet bourbon, vanilla, and rum cake. Some light citrus and wood in the finish with some alcohol warmth as this ends sweet with a light bitterness that dries nicely. Lengthy aftertaste with some toasty caramel and vanilla bourbon taking the forefront. Medium, smooth, soft, somewhat syrupy body and light carbonation. Overall, a really nice barrel aged barleywine. Well balanced and very enjoyable. Solid.

Dark mahogany pour. Bourbon dominated nose. Medium syrupy body. Pretty much tastes like what I’d expect from the name: lots of warm bourbon flavors, lots of caramel and toffee, vanilla, wood, a bit of booze on the finish. Straightforward, comforting stuff. Red-hued with viscous body and small head. Feint bourbon aroma keeps you sniffing. Nuanced and pleasant with a trace of woodiness that adds satisfying complexity without distracting. Extremely caramelly flavor accompanied with a bounty of coconut. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - AUG 21, 2010
22. Thanks mike! Pours a clear dark brown with gold edges and no head. Sharp bourbon band aid nose. Creamy sticky medium body. Band aids and bourbon on the mid palate. Tangy finish. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - AUG 21, 2010
Big caramel and bourbon on the nose. Pours hazy amber orange. Frothy foam rings. Big caramel, vanilla flavors. Worked well w the barrel. Nice smooth creamy. Snojerk321 (2984) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 13, 2010
22oz bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown with a frothy beige head that left some nice lacing. Nose of peat soaked oak chips with a big boozy kick. Very hot on the palate, a bit much.
