Draft sample at IBGF 2009.
Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Heavy complex citrus hoppy aroma with a alcohol tone. Medium body with a slick texture and lively carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration.
This is a very good beer. Drake (13662) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 14, 2011
Sampled on draft at GTMW 2011. Pours a hazy yellow with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of leafy, herbal and peppery hops. The taste is pepper, herbal hops and caramel malts. Medium-full bodied. Not well balanced. Dogbrick (12936) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 9, 2010
UPDATED: JUL 13, 2010 Sample at Heorot in Muncie, IN. This beer is a clear dark copper color with a medium off-white head that burns away quickly. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruit and hops. Medium body with flavors of sweet fruits, floral hops and malt. The finish is fruity and sweet with a short citrusy hops aftertaste. Just average overall. crossovert (12670) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 7, 2011
On tap, shiiit, this tastes exactly like tropical mango juice, no sign of alcohol here, mild but persistent bitterness. This is the ultimate beer for the non-beer-drinker, it goes down like juice, tastes like juice, is this juice? Mildly carbonated, seriously a fruity beer. ---- In the bottle it is not as satisfying.

Bottle. Sweet orange and moderate orange peel aroma. Golden yellow with nice head. Sweet orange malt and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Solid I2PA but without surprises. hopscotch (11051) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 4, 2011
Bottle… Space Coast Craft Beer Festival 2011 … Hazy, peach-colored ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The bouquet offers a nice medley of praline, apricot and peach. Full-bodied with a slick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Flavor-wise, this baby is like biting into a toffee-dipped and tropical honey-soaked grapefruit rind… ‘nuff said. Lengthy, citrus rind finish. I’m fairly certain pantanap shipped this one to me. Thanks, Kan! BVery (10328) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - AUG 19, 2011
Bottle. Orange pour with tons of sediment. Citrus and floral hop nose. Creamy texture with plenty of citrus hop kick and some pine resin. alexsdad06 (10289) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 30, 2014
22 oz bottle from notes. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor are skewed toward the malts; caramel and lightly toasted, sweeter orange citrus, honey, very little bitterness at any poin. I definitely want to see more bittering hops in a DIPA. phaleslu (10126) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 2, 2011
22 oz. bottle shared by someone nice at the DLD eve tasting in our hotel. Thanks again, STLHopper, whichever one it was! Pours a cloudy, pale orange color with a small bone white head. Aroma of sweet and caramel malts, honey, tropical fruits, and some citrusy hops. Same goes for the flavor, which leaned more toward the sweet and fruity than the hoppy. This makes for a really smooth palate and medium body, with pretty soft carbonation. Not a bad DIPA, and certainly unusual.
