COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Upland Dragonfly IPA is a malty and hoppy brew. Note the clean malty fullness on the front of the palate with fruity citrus overtones, attributable to our special hops. Dry hopping creates a floral aroma, and our use of bittering hops lends a strong bitter taste in the back of the tongue and throat.

Appearance: Honey amber. Nearly clear. Thin layer of white bubbles. Nose: Light pine notes with a decent amount of malt. Taste: medium piney, a bit of resin with some caramel. Bittersweet. Body: Medium to lighter and lively. Parting thoughts: A fairly nondescript IPA. Restrained. Not overpowering. Not terribly memorable.

12floz bottle, notched BBD: 12.2017, $1.50 unit cost as part of a mix-six, pint glass. This is an American IPA that is deep gold in color, but straddles the gold/amber line otherwise. Strong on the pine flavor with a resin aftertaste.caramel note in the nose are much more subdued as toasted bread background noise to the trees. This beer had a fine introduction; however, it has a harsh follow through.

This is not going to be a hoity-toity follow the rules rating. I simply do believe this is my favorite beer EVER ( and I have loved many beers in my lifetime!) The citrus hops? Heavenly...just a perfect balance of everything that is good in this world! I love this beer so much that I would pick the highest number of every category, but, since perfection is fleeting and rarely attained, I’m holding back just a bit. Truthfully, I cannot find a single thing wrong with this beer...except the fact that I can’t find it by me. PLEASE come to NY!

Light amber light head. Aromas medium pine, citrus, light caramel. Flavors peach, citrus, pine. Medium bitter finish. A pretty decent ipa.

Cimbasso (1058) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 15, 2016
Sampled from a bottle at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. Pours orange with a thick, white head. Aromas of sweet malt and citrus. The taste has quite a sweet malt base and citrussy hops with a strongly bitter finish. Hints of pine resin and grapefruit skin. Some floral and slightly spicy notes. A nice fruity and refreshingly bitter IPA. A little sweeter than I like, but not bad at all. Highly drinkable.

BrownALEx (459) - Portland, Michigan, USA - DEC 10, 2016
Very nice aroma of citrus and piney hops. Appearance is cloudy and a diluted rust orange. Taste is a collection of muddled flavors, hops mixed with caramel malt. Could be balanced better. Carbonation is kind of harsh. Overall, a decent ipa, but in a category that is saturated with great ipas, this one doesn’t stand out.

rumproasts (6052) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 13, 2016
bottle. Amber with one finger head. Medium+ caramel malt body -- definitely maltier than I prefer for the style. Moderate hops, though somewhat undistinct. Balanced, but on the boring side.

Not a bad IPA. Mostly pine with some lingering citrus. Pours light orange with a thick white head. Tried at the Indy airport in 2016 with Matt and Guy.

bytemesis (9515) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAY 9, 2016
Tap. Pours clear pale copper, small beige head, good lacing. Aroma is really light, hints of pine and grapefruit. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter, muted flavor profile with pine and grapefruit hops, Bready malt hints of caramel. Medium body. NondeScript, but not flawed

Bottle - average size head, medium copper color, good size citrus and pine hop aroma and flavor, fair bready malt backbone, juicy resiny finish, pretty good overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
