As much as we at Upland Brewing Company care about the beer we brew, we’re not completely single-minded. Preservation Pilsner represents our efforts to do our part to protect the land that we call home. Preservation Pilsner is brewed in the traditional Bohemian style, originally created in the town of Pilsen in 1842, and offers a crisp, light taste without sacrificing its signature all-malt, mellow flavor. We age our Pilsner for an entire month to ensure each glass is up to the standards of a classically brewed pilsner.

Draft to pint at Upland. Looks good for the style; a transparent gold with fluffy white lacing. Smells and tastes doughy, pleasantly skunky, and slightly hoppy with a nice, snappy mouthfeel. A solid pils.

tastybeer (1853) - Indiana, USA - DEC 4, 2012
Draft. Bright gold pour, good white head, good retention/some lace. Aroma of spicy saaz hops, grass, biscuit, straw. Taste is more spicy saaz, grass, buttered biscuit, honey. Palate is soft, slick, lightly bitter finish. Pretty good.

drowland (8888) - Georgia, USA - AUG 29, 2012
8/11/12. GTMW. Golden pour with a nice enough barely off-white head. Pale and pilsner malts in the aroma with a bit of hay, grass, fruitiness, and spiciness. A parallel flavor with more of the grassiness and spice than the malt aspects. Not bad.

madvike (3281) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 24, 2012
On tap at GTMW - Pours yellow with a white head. Nose is honey with light floral and light grain. Taste is the same, light honey, floral hops and rustic grain. Nice carbonation. Nothing special, but solid.

NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 12, 2012
Draft at Twenty Tap. Pours a brilliant gold with a frothy white head. Nose is very clean with a heavy Saaz spiciness. Some soft sweetness on the nose as well, fading into malt. On tasting, it is a bit low in terms of malt overally. Good medium bitterness with the spicy Saaz coming through nicely. Very clean. More malt and this would be top notch.
