COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel Konducta Vol. 1 was formulated with Rick Nelson from the Oedipus Brewery in Amsterdam. Based on one of his own rye beers, this collaboration has a grist of two-row, wheat, and roasted rye which dominates in the nose. French Aramis and Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand are used in the kettle and as a light dryhop, giving the brew layers of flavor. The dry finish is offset a bit by the bigger mouthfeel lent by the rye. Look for two different barrel aged versions (vol. 2 & 3) with blackberry and nectarine in 2015 and 2016!

Poured from tap to glass. Hazy golden hue with creamy white head that dissipated. Aroma is due, roast, wood, spicy hop. Mouthfeel is great with a light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry with a spicy following and charred finish. Overall this is a very interesting brew!

4 oz draft pour at ChurchKey. Hazy golden brown with off-white head. Aromas of pine, floral notes, rye, spices. Tastes of floral notes, pine, rye, toast. Medium body with a dry finish. Tastes more like a toasty rye pale ale than saison to me.

Excellent stuff. Comes together very well. Light note of bretta. Golden hazy pour. A touch too much barrel. Finishes a little bitter, some sourness from citrus. Tap at Churchkey.

Keg @ CK. amber pour with a tight white head. Nose is interestingly grainy. Rye, quite bready. Baker’s oven. lemon peel and chamomile tea. Taste of honeyed chmomile. Peppery rye. Burnt pizza crust. Super dry on the finish. Earthy flower bed. Very interesting.

Draft at Churchkey’s 5th anniversary, courtesy of staff, thanks! Hazy golden color, huge fluffy head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma is like a huge duststorm during the dustbowl, complex, earthy, many layers with black pepper, bright summer fruit, whore’s perfume, straw. Taste has dusty pepper and barnyard hay. Delicious.

Draft. Aroma is dirt, toast, tobacco, smoke, burnt coffee. Very bitter across the palate with a nice stale cigar ash finish. Oh and by nice I mean awful. I was at a table of 4 people and no one could take more than a sip.

Such a unique, odd beer. The roasted rye dominates and gives it this very intense cereal grain character kind of resembling cheerios. Really interesting and out there...

Draft at Upright, Portland. Pours a slightly hazy golden straw, little bit of head. Aroma lovely, crisp and rye-forward, loving the yeast strain, nice amount of spice. Body lively and arch, finish complex and crisp. A winner before it hits the barrels, very excited to see where this goes.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a copper orange color with a medium white head. A huge rye spicy and grainy nose, paper, dust. The flavor is like tasting a scarecrow, big dry spicy rye, earthy grain shells, some toast, perfume, a bit of citrus. Solid. Unique.

On tap at Upright, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is fantastic, with complex yeasts and various spices. Flavour is complex, with toasted rye, complex yeast, and roast. Deep complexity and very elegant. Excellent stuff.
