Tap @ Upright... Poured dark blackish with a thin forming head. Nice tasting stout. Chalky and roasty with a hint of coffee, mocha, and other toasted grains and sweetness. It’s always fun catching the Jazz influenced named beers at Upright. ericdevin (988) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Draft at brewery, Portland. Pours a medium dark opaque, decent amount of tan head. Aroma fantastic; coffee, vanilla, slight roasty character with an overriding sweetness. Body lively, slightly roasty, finish a tiny bit grassy. Yum! mcberko (17854) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 1, 2013
On tap at Saraveza’s Farmhouse and Wild Ale Festival, pours a deep dark amber tinged brown / near-black with a small beige head. Aroma of earth, mild roast, dark fruity notes and some farmhouse notes. Flavour brings out dry earthy notes, farmhouse characteristics, and classic Upright yeast. Very dry and earthy, with prominent farmhouse and yeasty notes. Good stuff.
