COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We just released a draft-only batch called Engelberg Pilsener, named after Mt.Angel. It’s German-style: light, dry and full of hoppy flavor. We made a simple single malt (Canadian pilsener malt) and single hop (Mt. Angel-grown tettnanger) recipe using a Munich lager yeast. The finished beer came out remarkably dry so for the second batch set to be released around the third week of July we coaxed just a bit more mouthfeel and residual sugar out of it and used a different hop variety, hallertauer mittlefruh. The beer is currently on tap in the tasting room and at a handful of bars around town. When the second batch is ready both will be on hand to taste side-by-side. Editor’s note: used to be all-tettnanger, now is tettnanger and hallertauer.

vyvvy (6476) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - JUN 22, 2014
On tap at the brewery - Pours clear yellow with a small white head. The aroma has clean undercooked dough, light spice and is more malt forward that a lot of pils. It is light bodied and refreshing with mild carbonation. The flavor starts off with fresh cut grass, sulfur and graininess. More hoppy than the aroma let on. The finish is very dry and cracker. Very solid pils.

joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - MAY 15, 2011
On tap at Beer Revolution. It pours pale yellow with a small, dense disappearing head. The aroma is honey, grains, earthy/sulfuric hops and lots of straw and hay. The flavor is the same with a firm body and some honey. It has a potent combination of grains, hay, and a bitter noble hop finish. I’m even picking up a hint of brett funk. Good one.

MrChopin (4304) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 27, 2014
hazy gold, thin oily white cap, decent lacing. Soft cereal and dough grain nose, lightly grassy, too waxy. Flavor is more rounded, dough and grass through the front, mid has bright bitterness a la victory, finishing with tons of dough, light peppery grass finish, high effervescence accenting grains, bit of unwanted plastic in the end.

3.9
shoulderbroken (4255) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAY 8, 2015
Tap at Hop Haven. Nice. Dry and wheaty, flour, lots of grain, little bit of lemon. Very refreshing. Something herbal in the aroma.
