COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flora Rustica is a Northwest-style saison that use yarrow and calendula flowers along with a handful of our favorite Oregon grown hops to produce a strongly aromatic beer. It’s very sparking and dry and makes an excellent aperitif as well as an interesting companion for certain foods like herbaceous and bitter salads or strong and fatty fish like mackerel.

Bottle thanks to phil. Pours a cloudy orange gold with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is yeast, fruit, and oak. Medium mouthfeel with strong brett, yeast, fruit and light dry finish. Very good.

Fare thee well Josh tasting at Bruce’s. Cloudy gold beer, big fluffy pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and dry and a little crispy. Sweet malt base with big bittersweet floral flavours. Touch of lemon peel. Light airy finish with a mild bitter linger. Very floral.

Bottle shared in London for my farewell drinks. Big thanks to Kenny for this one. Pours hazy golden with a thick white head. Nose is full of lemon, sherbert, lime juice, a touch of grass and plenty of zest. Taste is very lemon forward with nice doughiness to it, quite zesty and earthy with grapefruit focus. Sourness is balanced out nicely. Tasty

Bottle shared at Josh’s Farewell Hoorah - thanks to Kennybobs, 20/02/14. Hazed orange amber with a good sized off white head that retains well and eventually dissipates to a covering. Nose is lemon rind, peach, bitter orange, floral notes, tarte white berry fruit, light spice. Taste comprises floral notes, earthy citrics, straw, light herbals, orange pithdom, light bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi dry close. Decent saison but not top draw.

Bottle shared in London for Josh’s Farewell. Big thanks to Kenny for this one. Pours cloudy gold with a big, webby white froth head. The aroma holds light doughy malts, some citrus, lemon-lime. Medium sweet flavor with biscuity pale malts, a bit of wheat, hay, flowers, orange meringue, light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, further doughy wheat, sugary citrus fruits, mild hay and floral bitterness. Very tasty though not especially complex.

Bottle thanks to Ken. It pours cloudy dirty blonde with a thick off-white head. The nose is fresh, floral, light tartness, herbaceous, dough and hay. The taste is crisp, bready, wood, earth, hay, dull tartness, spice, bitter chard and citrus rind with a dry finish. Medium and moderate carbonation. Alright saison, but not outstanding.

Bottle via Joe. Pours an orange golden, good amount of white head. Yarrow and a dry openness in nose. Body really lively, flowers hit huge in finish fading into a grassy bitterness, crispness. Very nice.

Good floral and herbal saison. Roses, dusty peppery yeast and some very light citrus. A little thin without a lot of palate but the beer is still very good.
