750ml bottle @ Kelly's cabin. Pours a slight hazy golden amber colour with a medium white head. Nose is fruity, some wheat, and herbal. Flavour is very herbal and floral, with some light hay. Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy/creamy, rocky, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (herbs, flowers), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of grains of paradise, sage, medicine, plastic. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, medicinal. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.
Well, this starts off well with an easy 5 for appearance with a big, lasting, clumpy, meringue-like head and sticky lacing that rivals most beer from Belgium itself. Absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately that's the best thing about the beer, but happily it's still quite enjoyable in the other aspects too. The aroma is clearly adjuncty...rather medicinal and tincture-like, almost approaching Vicks Vap-o-Rub but never really becoming unpleasant. Smells more spiced-and-herbed than flowered, but perhaps that is indeed what the two flowers in question lend. In the mouth it's reasonably well-balanced, albeit again rather medicinal and needing a bit more bitterness. Nice fluffy mouthfeel helps a bit. As with Saison Vert, it's pretty solid despite the adulterations, but once again the additives are more of a distraction than anything...I still find myself wishing they had just left the base beer alone. Very cool that it's only 5.1%, though, and non-sour...I can strongly get behind both of those aspects, because there's wayyyyy too few classic saisons being made in this country. j12601 (13036) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUL 12, 2017
On tap at the brewery. Pours a softly hazed golden amber with a soft brown hue with a medium sized white head. Soft wheat and a touch of fruit on the nose, a bit of sweetness. Lemon verbena, a bit of herbal and softly woodsy floral tones, soft hay. Medium bodied, lightly floral and herbal, herbal notes don’t cover, but they are the dominant flavor here. Musk, soft yeast and a bit of funkiness slowly developing. Feels like a year or so in wood would be awesome on this.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2017 Orangeish pour, thumb sized rocky white head. Funk, fruity aroma, yeast, flowers. Taste seems muted, flowers, funk, but watered down almost. Surprisingly watery body, low carbonation and a herbal aftertaste. Will chalk this one up to cellared far too long.

Hazy deep golden with a large frothy white head, good lacings. Aromas of flowers, summer meadow, floral, perfume with a light touch of funk. Delicate effervescence with a light-medium body and bright texture. Fine sweetness with an intriguing fine acidity and low bitterness. Fles, 35 cl sample. Lichttroebel goud van kleur, flinke scuikmkraag. Aroma heeft zeer veel kruiden, bloemige hop, kruidige gist. Droog in de smaak, kruidig. Het doet wat experimenteel aan, zoals er honderden waren vroeger bij onze zuiderburen. Prima, lekker ook, maar ik zie geen reden om dit soort bieren voor belachelijk veel geld de oceaan over te laten slepen, als dit in elke Belgische supermarkt kan staan. Tenzij natuurlijk niet al die kleine lollige brouwertjes overgenomen worden door InBev en Heineken, die er vervolgens weer zoete eenheidsworst van maken. Bottle shared by Caesar. Clear pale yellow color, full sized fluffy white head. Aroma is malts and herbs or spices. Taste malts, herbs and spices again, coriander, herbal spicy bitterness. Bottle. Clear pale gold in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas are of pilsner malt, wet stones, weeds, and a bit of black pepper. Flavors of floral honey, more pilsner malt, soapy citrus, and earth. Light bodied with some sharp bitterness. Hazy bright yellow color, slightly off-white head. Aroma is really floral, slightly spicy. Taste is clean and floral, dry and refreshing. I really like it, it’s fresh, floral and tasty.
