Four is truly a light yet flavorful beer. The recipe uses a good portion of wheat and incorporates a sour mash into the process to make it slightly tart and extra refreshing. It has delicate aromas and flavors that span a range of floral, grassy and herbal notes. The finish is extra dry and makes the beer a great beverage to pair with food, especially various cheeses and shellfish.
Malts: organic pale, organic wheat, organic munich
Unmalted: rolled wheat
Hops: hallertauer mittelfrüh

750 ml bottle. Light straw colored with lots of sea foam at the top. Mild notes of citrus rind, grass, yeast and herbal hops in the aroma. The taste delivers a moderate dose of lemon, clove and wheat upfront along with a bit of apple and hops toward the end. Soft and smooth mouthfeel with significant carbonation and a dry, citrus finish. Overall, a quality session Saison at the lighter end of the spectrum.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours extremely hazy golden amber color with a 3 finger foamy and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a thick cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, straw, grass, light funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, wheat, bread, pepper, clove, grass, straw, light funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, wheat, bread, pepper, clove, grass, straw, light funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance and complexity of malt and fruity/spicy yeast ester notes; with good flavor robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and prickly mouthfeel that is great. Zero alcohol warming present after the finish as expected for 4.5%. Overall this is an excellent session saison style. All around great balance, complexity, and robustness of flavors for 4.5%; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours very pale with a huge rocky white head, I guess I don’t know what to say beyond that, except that it’s a damn nice looking glass of beer.

The aroma is simple primarily doughy and herbal with some light bright maltiness. Smells pretty great though...

The flavor is all sorts of satisfying. Bright, nicely hoppy in a good herbal way, the bitterness is @ a real nice moderate level. The beer is very dry & lightly tart with some very mild fruity character and some good grassiness. I mean, there isn’t much I don’t like about the beer and it ticks a whole lot of the right boxes for me.

The palate is lively and somewhat sharp.

Geeze, this stuff is fantastic.
Also wish for no more alcohol... 4.5% = low boost.

Pour is hazy yellow with a thin head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is composed of lemons and light fruits and spices. Quite subtle and nice. Taste is similar with a little more yeast. Mouthfeel is light and quaffable. Overall a nice and subtle low ABV beer that is ultra drinkable. I would drink again and again if I could.

bottle @ cascade + upright tasting sessions - ’coz we’re porks. pours cloudy extra pale yellow with a small white cap, some retention and lacing. saison yeast, lemon, pepper, soft estery fruitiness - pears and apples, farmhouse character with that light tartness. almost prickly carbonation, very light body - watery, subtle and dry lemony-herbal finish. a nice not so complex and quenching saison.
