COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pinot Barrel Four was our second batch. We took the recipe for the Four and sent the beer into some oak barrels graciously donated by La Bete winery of McMinnville, topping them up with a small amount of Oregon cherry puree along with lactobacillus and brettanomyces claussenii to encourage more acidity and aromatic complexity in the finished beer. Half of the batch was blended and kegged and can be found at a few specialty bars while the remaining half is still maturing in the barrels and will likely be bottled at some point towards the end of 2009.

On trap at brewery. Pours a lightly hazy amber red. Smells strongly of site cherries and lemon. Tastes sour of cherries with a hint of wood. Nice and tart, though not terribly complex.

Draft at Upright a few weeks ago - from notes. Pours murky burnt copper with no head. Aroma: hella sexy. Cherry, oak, tart, funk; cheese and poop in all the good ways. Taste: moderately sweet, really well-balanced tartness; cherry, funk, and a tiny bit of sweetened cereal in the end. Light body, texture is a bit thin. Overall: my favorite of the day so far. This alone is enough of a reason to stop in for a visit.

Bottle that was somewhat flat. Pours peach with no head. Taste was still very tart with some type of cherry or fruit? Pleasant sour.

Black peppercorn and some malt.T: Soft sourness, some sweetness and a good level of fruit. Subtle rather than bold.M: Big carb, light body. Easy drinking. 2010. Pinkish, cloudy orange pour yields almost zero head or lace. Oranges & grapefruit on the nose, yeasty/Bretty. Both bleed over onto the palate, pretty light and delicately balanced. Low carb. Really nice.

Gold/peach, hazy, white head. Aroma: crackerlike malt, notes of peaches, pear, light sourness. Flavor: delicate mix of elements--light fruits of peach/pear, strawberry, apricot, light acidity and sourness, light pinot barrel.

Bamsen78 (5400) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - NOV 22, 2013
Bottle @ Scooper Tasting in Ulfborg. Pours murky pinkish orange amber with small white head. Clear aroma of flowers and yeast with fruity and vinous notes. Sour, vinous flavour, with notes of flowers and hops. Lingering, sour aftertaste. Disturbing. Could be better, perhaps?

yngwie (17053) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 22, 2013
Bottle, 75cl. It pours an unclear, orange colored body and a small, dense, off-white head. It’s quite funky on the nose, with fruityness, and a malty hint. Vinous and with some berries. The flavor is fruity and funky, with some berries and orangepeel. Full-bodied, dry and with a pleasant level of carbonation. Lasting yeasty and berryish finish. Quite pleasant and tasteful this one, but nothing special. 131122
