On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a red-tinged black with a small brown head. Aroma of dark soured fruits, roasted malt, and some slight barrel qualities. Flavour is pleasantly sour, with a slight vinegar quality, soured dark fruits, wood and caramel malts. For a style I don’t normally like, this is executed very well. Very enjoyable stuff, as always from Upright. Reynolds314 (3450) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 21, 2012
On tap at Upright. Very roasty, chocolate, candi sugar, roasted coffee, and sweet malts. A pleasently different offering from Upright. trevor211 (1681) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Black. Deep, roasty coffee, toasted grain, and dusty oak. Smells like "old." Mildish palate for how it looks, but super tasty. Like a somewhat sessionable coffee stout. Nice. Beardface (1517) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - APR 29, 2012
Tap at Grain and Gristle. Dark brown pour, moderate tan head. Pretty much smelled and tasted of nothing but coffee grounds, and nearly ruined my enjoyment of my fantastic asparagus omelet. Probably the worst beer from Upright that I’ve had to date. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 24, 2012
Tap @ PCTBB... Poured dark brown with a tan head. Good roast, ash, charred malt flavors. Some sweetness and then some drying yeast esters and spice. Cocoa, strong coffee notes and more dark, malted sugars.
