Draft. This beer screams drink me, nice ruby pour with a creamy white head. Aroma is smokey caramel. Flavor is caramel, molasses, fruity. Just delicious. I hope they make this one again. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 15, 2010
Upright needs to keep making these smoked lagers. Tap @ Grain & Gristle... Poured a deep reddish/ruby with a beige head. Nose was toasty and sweet with a great campfire tone. Foamy, mild palate. Sweet malt tone, clean, with a subtle smokiness. Molasses, and decent fruity tones too. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - DEC 7, 2010
Dry cedar aroma, light. Dark gold, light in body. Big cedar body, strongly sweet, dark wood, intense profile, clean finish. BeefPocoroba (49) - Oregon, USA - DEC 5, 2010
On tap at the Upright Tap Room before a University of Portland Pilots games. This beer is the best smoked beer I’ve had. It is a subtle smokey flavor, but highly quaffable. I went back for many more. Delicious. These guys can put out great product, even if one of the brewers is from New Jersey. hopscotch (11182) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 11, 2010
Growler… This beer rocks!… Lightly hazed ruby lager with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The nose offers caramel and campfire smoke. Medium-bodied and milky with stinging carbonation. The flavor provides caramel, redwood smoke and just enough bitterness to balance the beer without distraction. Sweet toffee, caramel and light smoke in the finish. Lots of Marzen qualities here. This world class flip-top bottle of beer was provided by DA!

Draught. Red with offwhite head. Smoky aroma. Medium body smoky flavour. Smoke finish. Honestly, the smoke was all I could taste here. I think Upright might do better with their ales and Belgian type biers. I rather think lagers are not their line.
