Seven is our most aromatic beer. The brewerys saison yeast is fully expressed in the aroma with lots of fruitiness while the hops provide light spice notes. The beer has some heft mid-palette but finishes dry with a lightly lingering bitterness. Seven is satisfying on its own but pairs great with a variety of typically fragrant cuisines such as Thai or Indian.
Malts: organic pale, pilsener, organic munich
Hops: magnum, mt.rainier, hallertauer mittelfrh, liberty

Vestergaard (2074) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - JUN 15, 2016
On tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a hazy golden orange with a big, white head. Aroma has a nice, wheaty malt profile, lots of simcoe-like oily hops, fruits, peppery spice, slight herbal. Taste is somewhat sweet, rather hoppy without being super bitter, but a pretty dry finish. Spicy. High carbonation and a smooth, creamy body. Pretty decent actually!

Draught at K16. Malty aroma, almost caramelly. Clear dark golden colour. Good stable white head. The flavour is malty with a distinct bitterness. Sweetish. Tastes more of tripel than saison to me.

Sample at Tap House Grill. Hazy orange-gold color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, herbal yeast and malt, The finish is fruity with a moderately bitter hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

Draft pour to a tulip at the Taphouse. Pours a clear golden color with a thin patchy head. Berry like aroma with some spice. Apple, berry, spice, and semi plastic flavor. Very unique. Lingering berry forever. Overall a solid saison.

Seven is an odd Saison, for sure. With pale, pils, and munich malts, it almost has a lager-like taste.Yet, the Saison yeast makes a very full presence in the glass with a fair amount of funk and fruitiness. My favorite of Sevens feature was its spiciness. The hops are sticky and herbal, while the yeast propels some clove and coriander esters. The bottles suggestion to pair this with spicy South Asian cuisine sounds spot-on. Hell, I might need to make that happen.
