750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of rye, caramel, cocoa and light pepper. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. [2/26/15] Draught at Upright Brewing in Portland. Nice deep amber-brown, a bit shiny, with a tan head. Aroma of fruits, spiciness, malt, a bit of licorice and spicy rye. Tap at Monk’s Kettle, SF. It pours cloudy dark brown, with a massive cream head. The nose is farmyard, orange citrus fruit, salted caramel, pine and rye bread. The taste is rye bread, farmyard, orange citrus, dark fruit (raisin, currant, cherry and plum), hay, caramel and a touch of chocolate, with a long dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation.
